08 Town Hall Presidential Debate by Phil Ponder
Belmont University served as host for Tennessee's first-ever Presidential Debate on October 7, 2008, an event that brought the spotlight of the world to Belmont and Nashville. Over 2,500 reporters and all major networks covered the event live from the Curb Event Center on Belmont's campus. Long-time NBC anchor Tom Brokaw moderated the debate.
This stunning piece showcases iconic Nashville landmarks, including the Tennessee State Capitol, James K. Polk Home, The Hermitage, Andrew Johnson Homestead, Belmont Mansion, Curb Event Center, Belmont Bell Tower, Gordon E. Inman Center for Health Sciences, Parthenon, Union Station, Ryman Auditorium, L & C Tower, Fort Nashborough, and the AT&T Building. Phil Ponder, a beloved Nashville artist who has painted several works for local Catholic churches, masterfully captures the spirit of our city in this beautiful piece. Dimensions: 34" W x 25" H

Phil Ponder is a native Nashville artist with almost 30 years of experience in depicting middle Tennessee structures. His limited edition prints are made from unique pen and ink/watercolor originals that produce a colorful image of a vibrant scene.
