I'm running the Chicago Marathon to achieve my goal of completing a marathon before I turn 26! Sports, especially soccer, have always been a significant part of my life. After finishing my college soccer career, I missed everything about playing-from the fitness and training sessions to spending time with my teammates and best friends every day.
I started running as a personal challenge and quickly grew to love both the physical and mental aspects of the sport, which has become a new passion of mine. I've stayed in touch with many of my former teammates, and some have even joined me in running races. Running has become a way for me to stay competitive, maintain my fitness, and, most importantly, give back to my community.
Your donation supports the Chicago Fire Foundation's P.L.A.Y.S. (Participate, Learn, Achieve, Youth, Soccer) Program. P.L.A.Y.S. is dedicated to enhancing the academic performance and development of key social and emotional learning (SEL) skills in 3rd-5th grade students through a sports-based curriculum, serving some of the most underserved neighborhoods in Chicago.
I'm incredibly proud to support the Chicago Fire Foundation's mission, and I hope this inspires another little girl-or boy-to discover the joy of playing soccer, just as I did and continue to do.
Thank you for your support!
