In 2017, I attempted my first marathon and had a great start, maintaining a solid pace for the first 18 miles. Unfortunately, a knee injury forced me to stop, leaving me disappointed and wondering if my dream of completing a marathon was over. But I didn't give up. I kept running, kept training, and kept trying. What I learned about myself is that I don't quit. Through failure, growth, and perseverance, I've come to appreciate the importance of never giving up. This resonates deeply with the message of the P.L.A.Y.S. program, and I fully support what it stands for in the Chicagoland community. I'm excited to run for this cause and continue pushing myself to achieve this long-awaited goal.
