This fall, I'm running the Chicago Marathon-and chasing a pretty big goal: a sub-2:30 finish.
It's ambitious, but that's the whole point. I picked it on purpose. I wanted to set a goal that would force me to show up, every day, with full commitment. No halfway. No maybe. Just go.
And I'm not doing it alone.
I'm running for the Chicago Fire Foundation's P.L.A.Y.S. Program. P.L.A.Y.S. is committed to enhancing the academic performance and development of key social and emotional learning (SEL) skills of 3rd-5th grade students through a sports-based curriculum across some of the most underserved neighborhoods of Chicago.
These kids are learning to grow through the game-building confidence, connection, and real-life skills that will stick with them long after the season ends.
