The Benefit for Greenwich Hospital will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Greenwich Country Club. On this special evening -- our hospital's largest annual event -- we will share progress stemming from our $125 million Arc of Care Campaign and recognize this year's outstanding Benefit honorees.

We are delighted to honor Barbara Netter, devoted friend of Greenwich Hospital and stalwart champion of medical and scientific progress, with our distinguished Luminate Health and Medicine Award. Mrs. Netter is a dedicated member of our Arc of Care Campaign Leadership Council, whose visionary philanthropic leadership has greatly enhanced the work of our two physician honorees -- neurosurgeons Murat Günel, MD, and Zion Zibly, MD.

Greenwich Hospital has experienced exponential growth within its Neurosciences program and Dr. Günel will be honored for his role in transforming the local landscape for diagnosis and treatment of patients. A world-renowned expert in high-intensity focused ultrasound, Dr. Zibly will be honored for his groundbreaking research and work, which has provided our patients with life-changing hope and healing.

The contributions of our honorees touch our patients and their families every day. We hope you can join us in celebrating our campaign progress and our vision for the future.

Greenwich Hospital Luminate Health & Medicine Awardee

Barbara Netter

Barbara Netter, visionary philanthropist and stalwart champion of medical and scientific progress, is the recipient of the 2025 Greenwich Hospital Luminate Health and Medicine Award. Mrs. Netter's impact on our hospital is far-reaching and transformative. She serves on the hospital's Arc of Care Campaign Leadership Council and has provided lead investments with a particular focus on Neuroscience, making possible some of the most innovative services, technologies and treatments in the region. A longtime Greenwich resident and former practicing psychotherapist, Mrs. Netter's vast volunteer and philanthropic involvements-both locally and nationally-include numerous civic, educational and cultural institutions.

With her late husband, Edward Netter, she co-founded the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), a nonprofit organization that provides national grants to scientific investigators at major institutions to accelerate research in cancer gene therapy. In addition to serving as ACGT's honorary chair, Mrs. Netter serves on the Board of the Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania and on the Advisory Board of the School of American Ballet.

The Netters endowed the creation of Quinnipiac University's Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine, which was named in honor of Edward's cousin, a renowned surgeon and prolific medical illustrator whose works have become a staple of medical education. The couple also endowed the Barbara and Edward Netter Professorship of Cancer Gene Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.

For her invaluable partnership, forward-looking leadership, friendship, transformational philanthropy, and profound impact on science and medicine, Greenwich Hospital is proud to honor Barbara Netter this evening.
