Peter Fowler came to Buffalo after living and painting in Seville, Spain for ten years. Born in Denver, Colorado, he is a graduate of Colorado College with a degree in economics.

Peter began painting while working in Boston at a computer-consulting firm in 1985. In Boston he was fortunate to take a painting course at the Museum School taught by Jon Imber. Imber, a disciple of Phillip Guston, imparted a theory about paint that emphasizes the raw painterly use of oils without much glazing or frill. "Let the paint speak" he remembers Imber intone. Peter has followed this theory and honed it to fit his unique style over many years.

He left Boston and went to San Francisco where he maintained a freelance computer graphics business to support painting until his move to Europe in 1989. In Europe he landed in Seville, the home of Zurbaran, Murillo, and Velasquez, and was exposed to a rich artistic heritage that helped Peter to add depth and story to his own work.

Peter's work can be found in corporate and private collections internationally; ADUANA, Cadiz, Spain, MatriSur, Seville, Spain; Christopher Hyland Design (NYC), Ellen Fawer Art (NYC); Eastman Machines, Uniland Development, and Canterbury Woods, and Rigidized Metals to name a few in Buffalo, New York.

The Ghost masterfully narrates stories of adversity and strength in her visual work. She has refused to be defined by aesthetic dogmas and is creating art on her own terms. Through her work, The Ghost has created characters (often defined as warriors) that symbolize strength and resilience in response to social issues affecting the present world. Irony skillfully soften her message and invites the viewer to enjoy and reflect on her art.

While art has always been part of Patti's life, her artist persona "The Ghost" was born on March 4th 2021. The Ghost is a Gemini, meaning she reflects many of her creator qualities: earth, femininity, polarity, focus, and strength. This alter ego has allowed Patti to express her work free of gender, race, age, or social status. In a short period of time she has achieved a clear point of view that has been recognized and celebrated by museums, art galleries and collectors.

Outside of her artistry, Patti Thomas is an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, a wife and a mother. In collaboration with her husband, Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas, she helped create the Thurman Thomas Family Foundation (TTFF) and supports various Western New York causes.

Michael Constantine is a modern Machiavelli, a man of multiple talents. He is a sustainable skin care entrepreneur, occupational therapist and self-trained artist. He was born in Queens, New York and was raised in Kingstown, Jamaica. He relocated to Buffalo where he studied architecture and occupational therapy at the University at Buffalo. Michael's artistry is influenced by powerful storytelling lyrics of hip-hop and R&B artists.

Sherry Arndt proudly resides in Buffalo New York with her husband, Michael, daughter Rhea, stepson Jackson and their beloved family pet, Skittles. Born in Erie Pennsylvania as an Army Brat, Arndt quickly learned to adapt to many moves from country to country and city to city. With the ever-changing landscape of location, personalities and cultures, she became interested in the psychology of the human experience. In 1998, Arndt obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. This interest and love of the human experience has parlayed into her artwork as you see it today.

In 2009, Arndt began her journey into the art world working with international artists and mentor, Mark DiVincenzo. In 2015, shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Arndt started to show her work professionally.

Throughout a ten-year process of learning, researching and experimenting, Arndt developed an unconventional technique to her abstract work. Her paintings are typically vibrant, multilayered and textured. Arndt builds depth and dimension in her abstract paintings by layering paint with other material, such as sand, glass and textured mediums. The final step of this process is to pull away paint to reveal parts of the underpaintings. The results are somewhat unpredictable and leave a cracked surface that illuminates a "behind the scenes" view. Arndt's paintings are tied to her original love of psychology in that they aim to be not only beautiful, but also to speak to the damage and history that we all hold behind the facade that we present to the world.

My work seeks to explore the commonplace and often ignored parts of our built environment, especially the things that exist for the purpose of enabling of our lifestyles; I'm drawn to the unnatural, mostly urban, subjects that are responsible for this. Confronted with the seemingly sterile and nonthreatening parts of our everyday experiences, a reality begins to emerge that is deeply broken and unjust. I am studying what it means to be born into, and dependent on, the synthetic environments we have made. By putting aside the convenience of detachment, the work seeks to uncover a sort of reverence to the everyday ploddings through and scrapings together of our simple lives, while exposing our contrived innocence as the foundation of the system that is destroying us.

Steven Peet attended the University at Buffalo and the Henry van de Velde Instituut in Antwerp, Belgium, earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture. Working full-time as a licensed architect in Rochester, NY, he has embraced art as a paradoxically stabilizing yet constructively disruptive force. An avid sketcher, he has adopted acrylic paint for his more serious exploratory efforts. Art has always been fundamental to his manner of thinking, and his primary tool for perceiving and attempting to understand the world.

Markenzy Cesar is a painter who was born in Haiti. He has lived in the United States since 1987. In 1993, he moved from Long Island, New York, to Buffalo to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Cesar came to feel a connection to the region and has built a life in western New York. Cesar is married with two daughters.

Gary Kyte

Gary Kyte lives and works in Western New York. He studied art in high school and at Hilbert and Canisius Colleges in Buffalo, but primarily is a self-taught artist. He is a man of few words, which aligns with the mysterious quality of his landscapes. His work has been exhibited in various arts institutions in Buffalo, including the Burchfield Penney Art Center, which owns two of his paintings. Currently, his work is on view in a group exhibition at Buffalo Art Movement (BAM!) with Markenzy Julius Cesar and Bruce Bitmead (September 17-October 29, 2021). His work has also been shown in Sonoma and La Jolla, California.

Kyte follows techniques used by old masters, starting with a darkened canvas to provide depth and gradually building up acrylic layers of lighter colors. His surreal landscapes are populated by a few isolated houses perched on hills lit by the final golden rays of sunset under an empty blue-violet, or periwinkle, sky. These haunting scenes evoke solitude in conflicting states of serenity and tension.

Sarah Field Sonnenberg is an oil painter, art educator, muralist, and advocate for inclusion and diversity in the arts based in Buffalo, NY. Her recent body of work explores the intricate relationship between gender, nature, and societal perceptions.

In her oil paintings, Sonnenberg skillfully merges the forms of women with flowers, plants, and insects. Through this blending, she challenges viewers to question boundaries between the human form and the natural world, engaging their gaze in an oscillation between foreground and background. This visual ambiguity serves as a lens to examine themes of youth, womanhood, beauty, and the historical objectification of women, using flowers as a poignant metaphor for living decorative objects.

Jonathan Stafford's complex work reflects the relationship between creation, decomposition and reconstruction. His work is inspired by life experiences during his forming years, his academic career post-graduation and his work at the prestigious Argos Fine Art Casting Foundry in Brewster, NY to mention a few. Jonathan's well-defined style has been influenced by William de Kooning and Francis Bacon. He relocated to Buffalo in 2008 and has established himself as an artist with a very strong point of view, incorporating bronze cast, palette knives, collage and mixed media into his work. Buffalo has also inspired Jonathan's work and his renditions of the grain silos best represent his artistic viewpoint.

Jonathan Stafford studied at Parsons School of Design and completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with a summa cum laude award at Purchase College. His work has been shown at The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center, Westchester County Council of the Arts, Earlyville Opera House Gallery and throughout several galleries in Western New York. His work is also in private collections.

Kristin Brandt is a multidisciplinary artist that believes anything you do can be an art. Her work has been on view at Artspace, Hallwalls, Burchfield-Penney Art Center, and Kuntsmuseum Basel. She is the co-founder of the local not-for-profit Urban Canvas Project of Buffalo. Kristin is a dedicated fine artist, designer, and movement instructor who is always looking to develop further professionally and creatively.

In addition to a love of painting and graphics, she started Yoga to You, in 2009. She is gratified by arts understanding. "There is no wrong answer in the abstract" With ten years of arts-in-education and arts management experience, Kristin's personal mission is to create timeless, one of a kind works of art that change with the life of the collector. She also lives to enhance student artist lives by access and understanding of art and its movements, creativity, relativity and technique. Kristin loves Buffalo and is happy to see positive change- when the arts and sciences thrive, the city thrives

Cheryl Gorski is a Fashion Journalist documenting the mesmerizing moments happening backstage, front row, and on the riser of some of the most iconic Fashion Runway shows and presentations New York City offers. Gorski's energetic and driven nature leads her into the nightlife of afterparties, concerts, events, and on-the-whim editorial shoots, as everyone admires her creative direction and skill in photography.

Since graduating from Buffalo's Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts in 1987, Gorski has been photographing the fashion scene in New York City with journalistic precision.

Chery Gorski's work has been inspired by Richard Avedon, Steven Meisel, David Sims, and Nigel Barker. Her unique style of cinematography is a blend of fashion and documentary. She is a master at capturing visual insights into style, portraits, journalism, and nature.

Cheryl developed Fashion Maniac after realizing she couldn't be owned. Fashion Maniac's concept was conceived during the " film days" and resurrected 20 years later in 2011 as a monthly feature in Buffalo Rising. A year later Fashion Maniac became a global independent media outlet. The site features runway, afterparties, videos, backstage, front row, red carpet, and the hottest trends currently making waves throughout the fashion industry.
