First grade doesn't waste a shred of paper in Art class! They now know that they can salvage used paper, especially in this fun, recycled-paper, clay project. Students helped tear paper into tiny pieces for soaking in water, emulsifying and mixing with glue to create papier-mâché clay. Then they diligently made petals and coin shapes to create this textured relief sculpture on canvas. The results are ecologically magical. Poured Acrylic Marbled Painting on Canvas, 18"x24"
In class, students learned about various paint-pouring techniques. They were ecstatic to try one of the pouring methods to contribute to this collaborative painting. Each student chose a color of acrylic paint, poured it into a cup and thinned it with water. One at a time, students poured their color into the center of the canvas. The best part was tilting the canvas to watch the mini streams and undulating terrains reveal themselves through marbled patterns. Poured Acrylic Marbled Painting on Canvas, 18"x24"

Organic shapes speckled with line and dot patterns compose this collaborative painting. Students first recycled old painted paper to create abstract objects. They then chose colors to embellish their designs using acrylic paint markers. Together, they decided that a black background would create the best contrast to complement their bright and energetic arrangement. Organic Shapes Acrylic Painting on Canvas, 18"x24"
