"Little Shadows" This charming artwork showcases a collection of silhouettes, each capturing the unique profiles of our Pre-K students. "A Playful Palette" This joyful watercolor mosaic was created by the little hands of our Pre-K class, using tissue paper and water to bring a canvas to life. Each splash of color, wrinkle, and layer tells the story of collaboration, exploration, and childhood wonder. The imperfections are what make it perfect-capturing not just a beautiful colorscape, but a moment in time. On the back of the canvas, you'll find candid photos from the art session itself, a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the joy and creativity that shaped this one-of-a-kind piece

"The Building Blocks" Our foundation at SMOS is built on conversation, community, and collective purpose. This is what encourages us to grow and flourish. Whether this handcrafted vase sits daily on your kitchen counter or only comes out for special gatherings, we hope it starts a conversation and helps you cultivate a space that inspires community, growth, and purpose.

"The Color and the Joy" The students' fingerprints bring color and life to our community.

"SMOS Through The Eyes of A Student" A composite photo of the church made up of hundreds of photos the kids took of things around school that make them happy

"A Vase of Many Colors" Students have decorated a clay vase using slip transfers that they have created on newsprint. The results should reveal a variety of colors and markings specific to each student that come together to create a collage of color wrapping around the vase exterior. We will discuss the process a piece of pottery must go through to become a finished piece of functional art, including the drying and firing parts of the process.

"Chihuly Inspired Floral Wreath" First graders are master up-cyclers. Give them a giant cardboard box and they'll turn it into a monster trap, car or castle in no time. For this art project, they decided to challenge their up-cycling skills to create something that represents one of their favorite places and artists: the Missouri Botanical Gardens and Dale Chihuly. First grades created flowers out of plastic bottles and used alcohol paint to create a transparent blown-glass color effect. The students quickly learned that alcohol ink evaporates fast, so they had to paint with speed. But they were up for the challenge! Soon, they were mixing colors and creating ink designs that led to the majestic, vibrant blossoms seen in their Chihuly-inspired flower wreath. One of the best parts about upcycling, the children say, is it reminds us to protect and love our planet.

"St Margaret of Scotland School" A picture of SMOS school using 2x2 squares the kids will individually paint with water color and will be pieced together on canvas.

"St Francis Flyway" A brightly painted St. Francis shrine/bird condominium for your garden! The students built several small birdhouses and a box for St. Francis which was then assembled together. Small clay birds were painted and affixed to the assemblage. The completed shrine/condo will sit atop a wooden post so it can be installed in the purchaser's garden or yard.

"Soaring Over SMOS" Hot air balloons decorated by the students with bleeding tissue paper and line designs.

"Many Pieces, One St Margaret of Scotland" The 4th graders will reflect on all the parts of SMOS that they are grateful for and embed those reflections under a brightly colored piece of "stained glass" forming the rose window image of St. Margret from our Church.

"Shielded By St Margaret of Scotland" This vibrant painting, created by the 5th-grade class, beautifully showcases the St. Margaret of Scotland Shield, a symbol of faith, strength, and community. At the heart of the shield, the cross is adorned with heartfelt reflections from the students, each sharing their favorite aspects of life at St. Margaret's. From cherished friendships to beloved traditions, this artwork is a colorful tribute to the joy, love, and spirit that make their school so special.

"Spoonful of Blooms" Repurposed spoons designed into a flower bouquet/arrangment inspired by famous British florist, Phillip Corps, who headlined SLAM's 2025 Art in Bloom. Phillip came into class and met the class and gave them inspo for what their spoons can create! (Yes, of course we got a pic of the kids with him that we will share with the art piece!)

"Anel de Flores" Crafted by creative 6th grade hands, Anel del Flor (that's "Flower Ring" in Portuguese, because it sounds fancier) is proof that party supplies and a little imagination can outlast even your best houseplant.
