Playhouse 101: Audition Prep and More!! This is for any middle school student, regardless of grade! It's never too early to learn how you can best prepare for that 8th grade audition for your high school show and any others!! (You do NOT need to be a Stratford feeder student! This will just be great coaching!)
Date and Location: April 27th - Auditorium Lobby
Time: 1:00PM for students and Parent meeting. Stay for the play Puffs at 2:30PM and Q&A following the show.
STUDENTS: 5,6,7,8... How does the magic happen? Is it really just One (singular sensation)? Send your student to this Playhouse 101 clinic where they will get expert advice on many Playhouse topics: improving as a performer from the stars of the Stratford stage - dance, vocals, acting; what it's like to be on crew from our award-winning Crew Heads. Current Stratford Thespians will teach, encourage and answer any questions your students have about preparing for high school theatre, including how to do their best in auditions. They will walk away thinking, "I Can Do That!" Any student who wants more info about upcoming May auditions for the Stratford "Big Show" will also have a chance to get those questions answered. (The Big Show this year was "Little Mermaid.")
The students will be broken up into small groups for individualized attention, so your student will have the chance to talk closely with and learn from Playhouse stars and the behind-the-scenes crew members who make the magic happen backstage. Stratford Playhouse Director(s) will come by to say "hello" and answer questions, too. You don't want to miss this!
PARENTS: Also included in the "price of admission" an optional Playhouse 101 parent session! Learn about Stratford Playhouse! This informational session is for any middle school parents who want to learn more about the Playhouse and what they and their students can do NOW to prepare for being a Thespian in high school. Current Playhouse Booster Club Board members and parents, as well as Stratford director(s), will also give more information about the audition process, crew applications, becoming a Thespian, what we do, and how we do it. This is always a wealth of information!
PARENT SHOW TICKET OPTION: Parents can add a ticket to the Puffs show for an additional $20 by purchasing item #211.
Spots available: ONLY 30 @ $50 per student - (1) PUFFS TICKET INCLUDED
