23 1/2" X 18 1/4" Painting Black Bird draws inspiration from Tash Sultana's iconic song of the same name, an invocation of the mystic that resonates with the depths of the soul. Created during a period of profound introspection, this piece emerged as I explored the darker corners of my shadow self to rediscover the will to live. Ironically, in facing the darkness within, I found vibrant color and light-proof that by looking inward, we unearth wonder and reconnect with our innate power as creators. Black Bird is an exploration of the paradoxes of life: darkness giving way to color, shadow revealing light, and introspection birthing awe. The piece commands attention, leaving viewers shocked and inspired by its profound depth and powerful narrative.
