Helen Ziga received a BA from Albright College and an MFA from Ohio University. As the child of a Hungarian mother and a Slovak-American father, she grew up loving literature, nature and science. These interests led her to attend local art programs in high school and formally continue her studies in art through her mid-20s.

She has participated in group and solo exhibitions at the Dalton Gallery, the Bascom, the Decatur Art Alliance, the Alpharetta Arts Center, the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, ARC Gallery Chicago, and the Abington Art Center, among others. Helen served as gallery chair at the Art Institute of Atlanta Gallery. She also worked at and volunteers for the Hambidge Center for the Arts and Sciences.

In 2022 she decided to focus her attention entirely to art-making and recently made a creative home at the Atlanta Street Art Collective in Roswell, GA. She likes to create wherever she is and has worked in England and the Georgia coast. She recently completed an artist residency at South Porch Artists Residency in June 2024. Based in the Atlanta area, she lives with her husband Chris and 2 children

Durrett is an abstract figurative visual artist whose work explores identity and connectivity. She holds a B.Arch from the University of Arizona School of Architecture, where the Black human experience greatly influences her work. Painting became an outlet for releasing emotions and regaining strength after escaping an 8-year abusive relationship in 2022. Her artistic journey began as a quest for personal freedom and breaking free of psychological and emotional chains holding her back from embracing her true self.

Durrett has participated in several national exhibitions including her solo show in Orlando, the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Orlando Museum of Art, Hyatt Regency Hotel in Orlando, Spectrum Art Basel Miami, PRIZM, AfriKin Art Fair Miami, EXPO Chicago, and the Focus Fair and the Hamptons Fine Art Fair in New York. Notable accolades include features in the Orlando Foundation for Architecture archives, 1919 Mag, Blacque, and Sugarcane Magazine.

Durrett currently lives and works in Florida, using art to empower marginalized narratives and facilitate cross-cultural healing.

Michael Banks was born in 1972 and was raised by his mother in a housing project in north Alabama. He graduated from high school and was a star athlete. As a child Michael loved to draw and paint and create from whatever materials he could find. His mother encouraged him and he continued to create until November 1992, when his mother died. In his grief, Michael's desire for making art left him. He fell into a great depression and stopped painting.

For five years Michael's life took many different turns during his struggle with depression and alcohol addiction. Finally, in 1997, he recalled the hope and encouragement that his mother had given him and he began to paint again. Since then he has experimented with various techniques combining both found objects, building materials as well as artists' materials. He developed a style using roofing tar as an undercoating on wood with artist's paint incising subtle nuances.

While painting Michael is totally absorbed in his work, reacting without deep thought or planning. Painting, for him, is almost an automatic process. When questioned about what he means by a certain part of a painting, he often responds, "It surprises me what I have painted when I have finished. I was just in my groove and this is what came out. Wow."

Michael has won many honors with his work which has been exhibited in New York, Denver, and Atlanta. The Hurn Museum in Savannah, Georgia presented a One-Man exhibition of his work in 2005 and has a number of his works in their permanent collection. Articles have appeared in Southern Living magazine (August 2006) and Better Homes and Gardens (August 2006) which featured him and his work. A review of his Hurn exhibition in the Savannah Morning News stated: "Ultimately, 'Michael Banks: Outsider Artist' offers Savannah's most rewarding and penetrating solo show in recent memory. As this unforgettable exhibit clearly indicates, Banks is one outsider artist who has certainly earned the right to be on the inside."

Gregory Blount is a native of Athens, Georgia and has been painting for over 25 years. In the words of Winston Churchill, Happy are the painters for they shall not be lonely. Light and colour, peace and hope, will keep them company to the end, or almost to the end, of the day.

Greg's interest in painting began as a creative counterpoint to his career as an environmental lawyer. Building on his education in Southern literature and creative writing, his formal art education includes instruction from the Woodruff Arts Center and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) while pursuing a Master of Fine Arts, among other programs.

His painting and drawings have evolved, now most often featuring layered scenes of dance and movement, evoking Southern Gothic and invoking the subconscious. His art invites viewers into a collaborative negotiation over meaning and form.

Greg's works are held primarily by private collectors and have been auctioned at nonprofit events benefitting The Atlanta Opera, The Atlanta Ballet, Weekend for Wildlife at Sea Island, the Georgia Conservancy's ecoBenefete, Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, and the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust. He is a member of the Artists Club of Washington, D.C. and a former member of the Chatt Hills Gallery at Serenbe. Greg continues to practice environmental law across the US for major US corporations and lives in Atlanta and Serenbe with his wife Jane.

Last June fellow attorney Charles Cohen and I traveled to Israel on a photography
expedition. Neither of us had been to Israel before. We were fortunate enough to hire Moshe Mor as our guide. Moshe had lived in Baton Rouge for a few years and was a former Israeli army officer and long-time licensed guide.
After spending the first two days in Old City Jerusalem and the new Jerusalem, we then left on a trip circumnavigating the country. We first went south and stayed at a modern spa on the Dead Sea. We then headed north to central Israel and a hotel run by a Kibbutz on the Sea of Galilee. After spending two days visiting interesting small towns of the central and northern borders of the country, we headed south along the Mediterranean and then to Tel Aviv before grabbing a red-eye flight home that was populated by constantly praying Chassids.
Our photographic subjects covered the gambit from the architecture of Jerusalem's Old City to members of the diverse clergy in and around the Old City, the prayerful at the West Wall and the Ethiopian boys being Bar Mitzvaed at the "Wall." We saw Israel's colorful and historic landscapes from Masada to the Golan Heights, to the Sea of Galilee.
We found ourselves in the middle of a herd of 100 goats directed by a single Arab. I engaged one of the lead goats with a fist/nose bump after photographing the herd. Our guide filled us in on the history and directed us to photographic sites from ancient Roman Ruins and five century old synagogue mosaic floors to baptism on the Jordan River.
Charles and I agreed that neither of us ever had a better trip. We each produced some of our best photographs, which have been in a local gallery in Boca Raton, Griffin Gallery, owned by attorney Stephen Beiner and his wife Judith. We have happily donated several of the photographs to Legal Aid.

Lisa Guyton has had a lifelong relationship with making things, starting as a young child and continuing through college, graduate school and 20+ years of teaching art. Sheholds a MFA in painting from American University in Washington, D.C. A majorinfluence was her experience working at the Phillips Collection, a private museum in Washington, D.C. featuring post-impressionist and modernist work.
Lisa finds inspiration in nature. It might be the way light creates depth and color
changes on the petals of a flower. It might be the filigree lines of a branch against the sky. It might be the arrangement of buildings in a landscape. Whatever the inspiration, she wants to capture that excitement and feeling in her work.
Her connection to nature and observation often results in realistic images. Working
directly in front of the subject through still life, landscape or the model provides her with endless challenges. She aims to express the essence of the subject with the least amount of fussiness.
Lisa's art practice also includes experimentation with materials. From this
experimentation and free approach she creates expressive work that relies more on internal rather than external responses.
She maintains an art studio at the Urban Art Collective in Chamblee, Georgia. Her
drawings and paintings have been exhibited in Atlanta, Gainesville, Washington, D.C.
and Connecticut.

PHILIP CARPENTER has made art and exhibited in Atlanta since 1978. He received a Southern Arts Federation/National Endowment for the Arts grant in 1989 and was a Hambidge Fellow in 2001. Sandra Vermillion is a self-taught artist specializing in abstract art. After 30 years as a Gwinnett County teacher, she is spending her retirement years dabbling in different media and techniques. Sandra is a native Georgian and was raised on a farm in Greene County. Her rural upbringing exposed her to a variety of primitive artistic influences. As an avid traveler, her art brings out the natural beauty of the environment.

Alexi Torres discusses the relationship between nature and man in a contemporary context emphasizing the interconnectedness of all living things. His works are exceptionally complex, intricately weaving together organic and symbolic elements to create monumental works which challenge the viewer to see beneath the surface into the archetypal qualities of his subjects. He seeks to initiate a dialogue on the effects and power of human thought and behavior on the ever-changing environment, and the need of appreciation of what is.

Torres taps into universal collective memory with playful themes and ironic juxtapositions relevant to the contemporary experience. His series range from portraits of ordinary people, cultural, military to a diverse sampling of symbols from popular culture. These images are then reimagined and reconstructed employing a unique multi-layer painting technique. Inspired by the agrarian lifestyle of his friends and family, Torres plants an idea for each new work and harvests it at completion according to the lunar patterns followed by his ancestors in his native Cuba. To record this ritual, each painting is begun and finished on a waning moon and recorded with his signature on the canvas.

Born with the name of Painter, Kim Painter Chesney was destined to become an artist.
With years of working, child-rearing and fund-raising for child-related nonprofit
organizations, there is no task too big for Kim to tackle. Her biggest joy to date is being a match for a bone marrow harvest, saving the life of a gentleman with leukemia. Kim's creative juices are always flowing, from developing a culinary arts program for
impoverished kids to donating art to charities and designing and running fundraising events that are wildly successful. Kim brings commitment, enthusiasm, and energy to
everything to which she jumps on board.
As an artist, she has studied in several mediums, including oil, watercolor and graphite.
Currently, she is immersed in developing her own brand of encaustic painting, in which the works are both sculpted and painted. The encaustic process is an ancient hot wax technique known to have been used prior to 100 A.D. Using photographs of her travels
around the world, Kim mounts the image on boards, spreading a combination of hot beeswax and resin onto its surface. She then fires up her blow torch and fuses the wax to the image. Using sculpting tools to etch into the cooled surface and then covering this with a colorful mix of oil pastel, creates a unique, rare piece of art.
She began showing her work in 2008 and has gained recognition and won awards for her paintings, which hang in a number of private collections. Her wok has been
featured in several local publications. Kim has studied with acclaimed
artists/instructors, including Marc Chatov, Jerry Fresia, Joe Paquet and James
Richards. She was introduced to encaustics by Donna Thomas, owner of The Art School in Sandy Springs.
In moving around the United States and abroad, including living in Tokyo, as well as her extensive travels, she has found art to be a valuable way to assimilate. "Art is a universal language that unites us," she says. That belief is directing her current work on a major series of encaustic paintings exploring and celebrating common humanity, drawn from
her experiences across six continents.

Stephanie Rosendorf is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She most recently studied ceramics at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, after working as a creative director in the publishing industry. Her art has been exhibited nationally, as well as locally at Swan Coach House Gallery, Echo Contemporary Art, MINT Gallery and DK Contemporary Gallery. You can most often find her working out of her home studio, or in the handbuilding room at her favorite local art center, Callanwolde Fine Arts.

Statement:
Working mostly with delicate porcelains and the occasional rustic earthy clay, I create sculptures inspired by nature: flowers, forests, plants, fungi, animals, oceanic life and the earth's landscape. I'm also influenced by dreams and hazy memories floating just beyond the grasp of the conscious mind. It's a beautiful blending of the real and imaginary layered within soft, quietly rhythmic patterns. By using the meditative process of ceramics to interpret these details from the natural (and sometimes not-so-natural) world, I hope to bring a sense of wonder and delight to the viewer, and inspire them to notice the little things normally overlooked or unseen in the busyness of modern life.

Deb Rosenbury grew up in northern Indiana and began an extended career in the business world. Throughout her career, she maintained an active interest in the arts and began attending Interior Design classes at Indiana University. Through moves to Florida, Connecticut, Texas, Tennessee, and ultimately to Atlanta, GA, she continued to add creative experiences and ultimate started an interior design business while living in Texas. With her move to Nashville, TN, she had to restart her business which eventually culminated with her opening her own home interiors store. Working in interior design and creating beautiful living spaces with fabrics, paints, patterns, and accessories always spoke to her soul and further fueled her creating interest.

After landing in Atlanta, she started a cottage business making charming handcrafted items for local home stores. The business grew to the point where she needed additional space and she moved into an artist studio space in 2013. Being more fully emersed in the artist community, she became inspired to try painting. It totally consumed her. Once she picked up a paint brush there was no turning back. Being primarily self-taught, she was free to experiment and calls it one of the best decisions she ever made.

As her skills and followers grew, so did her need for a larger studio space. She now works out of the Marietta Art Collective where she has built out several additional spaces for other artists. She is an active participant in the Marietta, GA art scene.

Linda Mitchell is an American artist whose mixed media animal paintings and installations have
been featured in over 20 solo exhibitions at museums in the United States. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia in a family that nurtured her early interest in both animals and making art. Her mother bred cocker spaniels, and Mitchell was encouraged by a great-aunt who taught music, art and drama. As a child, she started painting, making animal figures, and sewing, all of which informed her work as a mature artist.

She received a BFA from UGA, and 2 MFAs from GSU in painting and sculpture. In graduate school she developed a visual language combining her painted and sculptural imagery, resulting in mixed media paintings and installations that are complex and dream-like. The artist's intuitive approach allows poetic meaning to emerge from the highly textural layering of painted and other diverse materials

Morgan Boszilkov is a dynamic artist whose diverse journey reflects her passion for creativity and transformation. A painter, ceramicist, and muralist, Morgan's artistic roots run deep, nurtured by a family of creatives. Her early aspirations were initially sidetracked by a practical career in accounting, which she pursued after studying at Boston University. However, her true calling led her to Japan, where she discovered a love for eco-friendly fashion design and modeling.

Upon returning to the U.S., Morgan built a successful career in wedding dress design, gaining international recognition and appearing in mainstream media such as Brides Magazine. Notably, she won TLC's "Who Are You Wearing?" in 2009. Her art has since been featured in Marvel's series Echo and celebrated in a critically acclaimed solo art show at Serenbe's Art Farm.

Morgan's life took a profound turn in 2018 when she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. This challenge deepened her commitment to authentic living and holistic healing. Now five years cancer-free, Morgan integrates her experiences into her work as a fine artist and plant medicine advocate. She channels beauty - in physical form through art, and she helps guide others to remember both their own beauty within and the beauty of life through awareness and spiritual awakening.

Robin Skolsky is a NY transplant who has called Atlanta home for over 20 years. She
grew up in an "artsy family" and shares her love for creation with her sisters and nieces.
Robin is a physical therapist by day - working at Shepherd Center as well as Children's
Healthcare of Atlanta - where she prescribes, fits and trains people in using custom
wheelchairs. She has a a love for the senior community and enjoys volunteering her
time at senior living centers to lead art projects with residents. Other than some classes
as a youngster, Robin is primarily self-taught and experiments with different mediums
