Meet the Honorary Chair,
Jason Whittle
The HK's Lake of the Ozarks Open committee has named RE/MAX Lake of the Ozarks Co-owner Jason Whittle the event's honorary chair. Whittle, a Lake of the Ozarks native, played 11 seasons in the NFL as an offensive lineman, including seven seasons with the New York Giants. He will be joined by Kansas City Chiefs Ambassadors, St. Louis Blues alumni and other sports celebrities at the event, scheduled Sunday and Monday, May 18-19, at The Lodge of Four Seasons and The Club at Porto Cima.
"I'm so proud to join this team as honorary chair," Whittle said. "The HK's tournament has a 46-year tradition of supporting Lake Regional Health System. As a local business owner, I know our hospital is essential for a strong community. I invite everyone to join me in supporting this event and Lake Regional."
Jason Whittle, Buffalo Bills Offensive Lineman (2007-2008)
Jason Whittle is the co-owner of RE/MAX Lake of the Ozarks.
Our History
In the early 1970s, a group of community-minded, lake-area residents realized the need for medical services to treat existing homeowners and the growing second homeowner, retiree and tourist populations. Then, the closest hospital was 50 miles away. Many people who suffered trauma, heart attacks or other serious health conditions did not survive because medical assistance was not immediately available.
Harold Koplar, founder of The Lodge of Four Seasons, was one of the visionaries who believed the area needed a hospital. To help provide funding, the HK's Annual Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament (named for Koplar) was established. In January 1978, Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, later renamed Lake Regional Hospital, opened its doors.
Our Growth
Each year, the nonprofit hospital grew, investing income over expenses and charitable contributions into providing more health care services for the lake region. Because of generous contributions and sound fiscal management, the hospital now is a regional health system, providing trauma services, surgery and complete cardiac, cancer and orthopedic care.

Benefiting Local Heart Care
As a Level II STEMI Center, Lake Regional Health System provides an essential service to mid-Missouri: ensuring 180,000 residents and millions of visitors have 24/7 access to lifesaving treatment for heart attacks. And because time is muscle, Lake Regional is proud to be a national leader in heart attack treatment time, delivering care faster than 9 out of 10 hospitals nationwide.*
The Lake Regional heart care team uses specialized X-ray equipment in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab to diagnose and treat patients with heart attacks, as well as heart and blood vessel disease, and to implant pacemakers, performing nearly 2,000 procedures annually.
To ensure Lake of the Ozarks-area residents and visitors continue to have access to the latest heart care technology, all proceeds from the HK's Lake of the Ozarks Open tournament will support heart care at Lake Regional Health System, including technology such as the Philips Azurion 7 Series. This industry-leading imaging equipment provides enhanced visualization for finding and treating blockages in the heart and vessels while delivering the lowest possible dose of radiation, improving safety for patients and physicians.
