AUCTION RULES & GUIDELINES

PLEASE NOTE: We strongly recommend utilizing your smart phone and enabling text message notifications to participate in the auction to receive live updates. Participants using a desktop computer and tablet must manually refresh their browser to receive bid updates.
RULES FOR PARTICIPATION
- Guests are responsible for all purchases made through GiveSmart.
- All sales are 'as is' and final. No exchanges or refunds will be made.
- All items must be paid for in full by credit card prior to pick-up unless other payment is arranged.
- Unless otherwise stated, all date-specific experiences will be scheduled in advance at a mutually agreed upon date and time.
- Unless otherwise stated or negotiated, all services and certificates are subject to availability and must be redeemed by March 9, 2026, one year following the auction.
- All donated packages are for the sole purpose intended. No commercial use or requests for additional services are proper or allowed.
- The American Red Cross is neither responsible nor liable for any accidents or injuries that occur during the use of packages or items.
- The American Red Cross does not endorse any of the services and products being auctioned, with the exception of Red Cross branded products.
- Items may not be resold.
- The American Red Cross reserves the right to withdraw any items from the auction prior to the event.
- Any values quoted are estimates only. Values are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value.
- The American Red Cross has made a reasonable effort to accurately describe all packages, and it is not liable for inaccuracies in the item description.
- Amounts paid in excess of fair market value may be deductible for federal income tax purposes. Consult your tax advisor for more information. You will receive a letter in the mail outlining any excess you paid in fair market value to reflect this following the auction, which can be submitted to the IRS as proof.
AUCTION CHECK-OUT
- Auction check-out will open immediately following the close of the auction. We strongly encourage checking out within 24 hours of the auction's closing.
- All items must be paid for in full by credit card prior to pick-up unless another payment is arranged.
- All tangible items must be picked up at the office pick-up location you specified when registering. Pick-up locations include Buffalo, West Henrietta, and Endicott.
AUCTION ITEM REDEMPTION
- All winners must pick up their auction items at the Red Cross office location they selected upon registration during a mutually-agreed upon time with Red Cross. Items will be available for pick-up at the below locations starting Wednesday, March 13, 2024, during the office's business hours.
- Following the auction, a form will be emailed to all winners so they can schedule a time to pick up their items. If you are unable to pick up your item during the times in the poll, please email [email protected] to organize another pick-up time. If you attempt to pick up your item outside of your scheduled pick up time, the Red Cross cannot guarantee someone will be there to give you your item(s). To reschedule, please email [email protected].
- No items will be mailed unless requested by the winner in an email to [email protected]. Only gift certificates are eligible for mailing. The Red Cross is not responsible for any lost or stolen mail.
- All items must be paid for before or upon redemption.

Pick-up at Red Cross offices in Dansville, and Corning, NY is available upon special request.
