Seal & Sea Otter Mittens are made by Daghelti'i Deghk'isen Michelle Ravenmoon (Dena'ina). Michelle grew up on the southeast side of Lake Iliamna, living off the grid in a subsistence lifestyle with her family. As an artist, she enjoys working with natural materials like fish bones, naturally tanned skins, furs, and birch bark. She also incorporates traditional Dena'ina styles and stories into her art, enriching her creations with cultural significance.
The Upcycled Carhartt Vest is embroidered with "Our Innovators" Tlingit design in honor of all who think with innovation, growth, while also bringing our tradition and values. The vest is donated by Tlingit artist Chloey Cavanaugh. Chloey Tlaakw Shaa Cavanaugh is Was'ineidi Tax'Hit Eagle Wolf out of Keex' Kwaan (Kake, Alaska). She was born in Sheet'ka Kwaan (Sitka, Alaska) and raised in Aak'w Kwaan (Juneau, Alaska). After her grandfather passed away in 2018, Chloey embarked on her small business journey by digitizing his carving templates. Each sketch and carving template became a way to process her grief and connect to his passion and stories, keeping his memory alive with every stroke. Chloey now extends her passion for storytelling and design to empower small businesses across the Pacific Northwest. Her work blends creativity with cultural reverence, echoing her Tlingit heritage and emphasizing the importance of Indigenous voices. You can find her work on Instagram at @blackandwhiteravenco.
