The Faceless Sister Pin is made with red, black, and champagne beads with two flower and a flower accent beads on a leather backing made by Billie Jo Ratt. This pin symbolizes the forgotten missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG). The Red Dress represents the MMIWG epidemic that is seen across Turtle Island. Red is used because it is the only color the spirits can see. It calls upon the spirits of our sisters allowing them to have their voices heard through their family and community. Red also symbolizes the unspeakable violence they undured. Speak for them by bringing awareness. Billie's work can be found at @sweetgrass_inspirations on Instagram and Facebook and this item was donated by Silugnataanits'qaq Melissa Marton.
