What is the American Cancer Society Russell and Ann Gerdin Hope Lodge?
When traveling for cancer treatment becomes necessary, many wonder if it will be financially, physically or emotionally manageable. That's why the Hope Lodge program was started.
Over the past 15 years, the American Cancer Society Russell and Ann Gerdin Hope Lodge has made a profound impact by connecting thousands of patients to lifesaving cancer treatment and saving them millions in lodging expenses by providing free accommodations with all the comforts of home. Hope Lodge Iowa City makes it possible for patients to access their best chance for effective treatment - and brings hope for life after cancer. In a typical year, nearly 1,000 guests call Hope Lodge home.
You can help guarantee many more years to come of the Iowa City Hope Lodge by supporting the Hope Lodge Heroes event. This is the only fundraising event for the Hope Lodge and helps to bridge the funding gap, keeping our Hope Lodge doors open, and is the key American Cancer Society fundraiser that helps fund this vital program.
