Here, on essentially level terrain, an 18-hole course was laid out and opened in 1904. According to The Architects of Golf, by Geoffrey S. Cornish and Ronald E. Whitten, it was Ida Dixon who was responsible for the design of the course, making her the first female golf architect in America, probably in the world.

Springhaven's narrow fairways and tight tree lines require accuracy off the tee, long hitters are advised to leave drivers in their bag on the back side, and greens conceal near invisible breaks and challenges regardless of pin placement. When playing at The Springhaven Club it is important to remember that length is not the key. Accuracy and course management rule the day for a golfer to play their best round. With 80+ bunkers, five holes with water hazards and a number of holes that require a demanding approach, Springhaven is sure to test the most experienced golfer, while a well-placed tee shot allows the beginner a par opportunity!

Old Course

The Old Course was designed to reflect Stonewall's low key, natural and "golf only" personality. As noted by Golf World with respect to the Old Course: "Stonewall has low-profile greens, fairways hugging side slopes and tall, tan fescue roughs. It has two of the finest par 4s anywhere, the sixth and eighth, and two of the plainest-looking par 4s - the 13th and 16th, that you'll ever double bogey."

North Course

Whereas the Old Course is more challenging tee to green, the North Course green complexes are more difficult than those on the Old Course.
As noted by Tom Doak, "On the first golf course, most of the greens are tilted, and if you miss to the high side, you're in trouble. On the North Course, the greens are more intricately contoured and depending on where the hole is from one day to the next, there might be a different side you'd want to miss on in order to have a chance to get up and down."

Restrictions: Must schedule outing with member. Certificate to be redeemed before November 1, 2026. Old Course provides caddies, and caddy fees are not included. Caddies must be paid for by the players.
