Extensively renovated, the house includes a fully-equipped modern kitchen and 3 full baths. It sleeps 10-12 people in three upstairs bedrooms and on two daybeds in rooms downstairs. The house features a working wood stove in the living room, cable television and wireless internet, a large deck, and complete laundry facilities in the mud room.
Ashcroft House and Deer Isle are a little over an hour's drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Slightly off the beaten tourist path, Deer Isle has a variety of family-friendly options for visitors. Stonington, the largest town on the island, is a working fishing and lobstering village. Pilgrim's Inn in Deer Isle village is a bed and breakfast that has operated since the 1700s. Visitors can take the ferry from Stonington Harbor to Isle au Haut, a wilderness island that is part of Acadia National Park. Peter Beerits' sculpture garden at Nervous Nellie's Jams and Jellies is a delight. Deer Isle offers sea-kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, clamming on pebble beaches, and spectacular scenes of coastline, sheltered coves and open water from miles of relatively quiet roads.
This is a NON-smoking property. The house is available year-round but few businesses and restaurants in the area are open November - April. Availability depends on prior bookings. Reservations are first come, first served.
