Join Us for Trivia Night Benefiting the Grafton Education Foundation!

Get ready for an evening of fun, laughter, and friendly competition at our upcoming Trivia Night, all in support of the Grafton Education Foundation! This exciting event will take place on Sept 28th at BSG in Grafton, starting at 5PM. Trivia starting at 5:45PM.

Gather your friends, family, and colleagues to form a team and put your knowledge to the test (adults only please!). Our trivia questions will cover a wide range of topics, ensuring everyone can contribute to the team's success. Featuring a "Are You Smarter Than Our 5th Graders" round where you compete (virtually) against Grafton School District 5th Graders.!

Tables for teams as small as two and as large as 8 with one VIP table for up to 10 people! All team members must be over 21.

Event Highlights:

  • Team Competition: Teams from 2 to 10 members will compete in 3 rounds of trivia for the chance to win fantastic prizes.
  • 50/50 raffle & contests: Take part in our 50/50 raffle and theme contests with prizes donated by local businesses and supporters.
  • Food and Drinks: Full bar including coffee drinks and mocktails available for purchase. A limited food menu offered. A portion of the sales will benefit the GEF.
  • Entertainment: Enjoy entertainment between trivia rounds to keep the energy high and the fun going.
  • Why Participate? By joining us for Trivia Night, you'll be making a meaningful contribution to the Grafton Education Foundation. All proceeds from the event will go directly towards funding educational programs, resources, and initiatives that enhance the learning experience for students in our community.

 

Team Spirit and Table Decorating Contest!

As part of our event, we're hosting a Team Spirit and Table Decorating Contest! Each table will have the opportunity to choose their own theme night. Once you've chosen your team, you need to decide on a theme, as this will influence your team's name and serve as the basis for decorating your table. Feel free to go all out-since this is a contest, let your creative juices flow and put in as much effort as you'd like. Whether you choose Barbie, Hawaiian, Football, the 80s, or something entirely different, use your imagination to create a fun and exciting theme.

1. What is "Are You Smarter Than Our 5th Graders?"?

Our Trivia Theme Night is an event where participants answer questions on various topics in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Teams compete against each other to see who knows the most about a given theme or range of topics. This is an adult only event.


2. How do I form a team?

Teams can be formed with friends, family, or colleagues over 21 years old. The number of members per team can be 2 to 10 people.


3. Do we need to register in advance?

Yes, pre-registration is required and ends Sept 10, 2024. Tables are limited. 


4. What should we bring to the event?

Bring your enthusiasm and knowledge! There is a contest for the best team theme everyone is encouraged to bring items to decorate their table according to their theme. Bring cash to purchase mulligans and participate in the 50/50 raffle!


5. Are there any rules we need to follow during the trivia night?

There will be specific rules, such as no use of mobile phones or other electronic devices during the game, respecting time limits for answering questions, and following the host's instructions. The lists of rules will be available the night of the event.


8. How is the trivia night structured?

The night consists of three rounds of questions. Each round focuses on different sub-topics within the main theme. Points are awarded for correct answers, and the team with the most points at the end of the night wins. There will be an intermission between each round.


9. Are there prizes for the winners?

Yes, prizes are awarded to the top team. There is also a prize for the team with the most creative and unique team theme.


10. What if there is a tie?

In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker round with additional questions may be held to determine the winner. 


11. Can we decorate our table?

Yes, it's encouraged!! This can add to the fun and spirit of the event. There is a prize for the best team theme.


12. Is there a dress code?

Dressing up according to your theme is encouraged and earn your team additional spirit points.


13. Will there be food and drinks available?

Yes! BSG has a large variety of drinks and a new limited food menu.  Both alcoholic and N/A drinks available along with coffee drinks.

14. How long does the trivia night last?

The evening is estimated to last 3-4 hours.

 

15. What are mulligans?

In the context of a trivia contest, a "mulligan" is essentially a free pass or a do-over that teams can use to compensate for incorrect answers. 

Purchase: Teams usually have the option to purchase mulligans before the contest begins. Each participant is able to purchase one mulligan. Mulligans are $10 each. You are able to purchase via GiveSmart or with cash at the event.

Usage: During the three rounds, if a team provides an incorrect answer, they can use a mulligan to count that question as correct instead.

Scoring: When a mulligan is used, the team is awarded the points for that question as if they had answered correctly. This can be a strategic tool to help teams stay competitive, especially if they are unsure about certain answers.

Strategy: Using them too early in the game might leave them without any free passes for tougher questions later, while saving them for too long might result in unused mulligans if they are confident in their answers throughout.
