Are you looking for advice on how to decarbonize your home, business, church, or organization? Want to learn more and get involved in reducing your greenhouse gas emissions and advocating for policy changes in your local community and state?

Rick Brown, PhD, TerraVerde Energy Board Chair and member of the Holden Board, is eager to share his knowledge and experiences in a conversation (in person in the Bay Area or virtually) with others.

He has been involved in the development of clean energy policy and businesses over the past 20 years and looks forward to offering his knowledge and experience in developing strategies to meaningfully address the climate crisis.

Learn about how Holden continues to prioritize clean energy efforts as well, seeking to live out environmental stewardship.

This consultation will specifically focus on how to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from your home, business, church or other organization, and get involved in advocating for policy changes in your local community and state. The consultation can include up to 6 people.

Hotel Hose House Birdhouse

Hose House birdhouses are back again by popular demand! Showcase a unique aspect of Holden Village in your home or outdoors! This adorable, handcrafted birdhouse looks just like the Hotel Hose House. Because of its remote wilderness location, Holden Village is its own fire department. All of the Village's fire hydrants and fire hoses are protected from the elements in charming little buildings spread throughout the Village and named for their locations. The feathered friends in your neighborhood will be prepared to respond to the Wail (Holden's emergency siren) with this delightful birdhouse! The Main Hose House Birdhouse is also available (see Item #109)! Birdhouse materials are suitable for use outside and there is ventilation under the eaves for birds. Measures 8" x 5" x 7".

One-Week Cabin Stay, Chelan, WA

Enjoy a week at a quiet cabin with outstanding views of Lake Chelan located in the forest of Union Valley. Relax and enjoy the solitude of this simple cabin, as well as all Chelan has to offer!

The cabin originally was created by 8 Holden friends to nurture community, faith, and renewal. Now it is owned and offered by Janet Grant. It is equipped with a full kitchen, sleeping for up to a cozy 8 (with all linens and supplies provided) but it sleeps 4 very comfortably. Cell phone reception is good. No wi-fi. Small pets allowed.

It represents what Holden stands for - an expression of faith through simplicity, care of creation, and renewal. A previous year's recipient said, "Our week at the cabin far exceeded our expectations. You have provided everything we could ask for at the cabin." Available most weeks May 1-November 1.

4-5 Night Townhome Stay, Sisters, OR

Enjoy four nights/five days in a comfortable two-bedroom townhome near the Three Sisters mountains in Oregon.

This cozy getaway condo is located in Pine Meadow Village, just a half-mile from Village Green City Park in Sisters, Oregon, offers beautiful walkable paths to vistas of the Three Sisters Mountains, cows, deer, and sunsets. The extensive sidewalks throughout the village are great for exercise, tennis, or our favorite, a late-night stroll for stargazing. The Village has charm with a tame deer population. You will wonder if the deer are on the Village payroll!

This home is flooded with natural light with large windows and doors, making it warm and homey in the evening, and bright and cheerful during the day. The vaulted great room ceiling has a floor-to-ceiling river rock fireplace, gas-fired, and no fuzz ambiance, a great place for privacy and group activities. The decor boasts an eclectic vibe with local photography and family memories. The floors are warm oak with beautiful rugs, a leather couch, and a stock of mystery books, plus a flatscreen TV and free Wi-Fi for any downtime spent indoors. The dining room table seats six and three more guests can eat at the breakfast bar. Lovely dinnerware and new kitchen equipment await the cook of the group and Calphalon cookware and small appliances are ready to assist in preparing those favorite recipes. The heart-shaped waffle iron will be a hit come breakfast time! Step outside and you will find the two patios: one off the great room and the other near the front door. A gas grill and cushioned seating allow for happy hours on both sides of the home.
