Two Hand-knitted Teddy Bears and Knitted Blanket

The bears are made from 100% wool, stuffed with polyester fiberfill, and felted. They can be machine or hand washed in cold water, and air dried. They will shrink a little bit if washed in a machine, or dried in a dryer.

The blanket is made from yarn from Norway. The yarn is 50% lamb's wool and 50% organic cotton.

Note from the Knitter: I knitted a little sample from the leftover yarn I used for the blanket and washed it in cold water in the washing machine, then line dried it. I will include that sample. The yarn shrank a little bit, and got a little softer, but it didn't lose its color. I have not washed the blanket itself.

One-Week Cabin Stay, Chelan, WA

Enjoy a week at a quiet cabin with outstanding views of Lake Chelan located in the forest of Union Valley. Relax and enjoy the solitude of this simple cabin, as well as all Chelan has to offer!

The cabin originally was created by 8 Holden friends to nurture community, faith, and renewal. Now it is owned and offered by Janet Grant. It is equipped with a full kitchen, sleeping for up to a cozy 8 (with all linens and supplies provided) but it sleeps 4 very comfortably. Cell phone reception is good. No wi-fi. Small pets allowed.

It represents what Holden stands for - an expression of faith through simplicity, care of creation, and renewal. A previous year's recipient said, "Our week at the cabin far exceeded our expectations. You have provided everything we could ask for at the cabin." Available most weeks May 1-November 1.

Sawtooth Wilderness Mini-Quilt

This small quilt features a classic sawtooth star pattern. Framed against a black background, the stars feature flowers and leaves in pops of warm colors-little flares of orange-yellow and pinkish-red that are sure to give your brain a boost of happy chemicals, even in the dead of winter. This quilt will make an excellent wall hanging or armchair dressing.

This quilt was made in recognition of the larger quilt now on display in the interior stairway of the Holden Bed & Breakfast. The quilt's design pays a loving homage to the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness Area. Measures 26" x 33".

"Rag Rug" 35" x 20"

This beautiful handmade "rag rug" was woven by Worship Associate Rachel Haxtema. Woven on the Village Community loom this piece is made from old t-shirts and fabric scraps. But with the beautiful colors and fabric choices, you would never know they were "rags"! It is 35" x 20" made mostly of cotton with some acrylic yarn. Warm up your space with this gorgeous piece.

Woven Table Runner and Bowl

This lovely bowl was handmade in the Holden Pottery Studio by former Village Potter Julia Nellessen. The bowl is the perfect size for serving at the table and sturdy enough to use for mixing. When not in use, it will look great as a centerpiece for a table or as a fruit bowl.

The table runner, woven by Holden's Craft Cave genius and avid weaver Carolyn Giese, measures 17" x 26" and was woven on a loom similar to the beloved in-village Gjesta loom. These pieces are an ode to the wonderful arts community here at Holden.

Handmade Wooden Box

This stained glass window panel is constructed with translucent glass panels traditionally mounted in soldered metal strips. The central cruciform shape features muted blues and teal colors along with iridescent metallic panels, evoking the simple forms of origami or perhaps a sacred garment, arms open wide in blessing.

Framed in honey-colored hardwood with a clear satin finish, this panel is fitted with eye-hooks and is ready for mounting. Music with John Hermanson

Bid on the chance to host singer-songwriter John Hermanson for an evening of music at your home, church, or other venue. John will bring his music to your event and perform!

Options include a hymn sing-along or a mini concert featuring John's original music. John is also available to lead a Holden-style vespers service using his Isaiah Service of Light, which John wrote while in residence at Holden Village.

Cheeseboard with Handle

Enjoy this beautiful handcrafted wood cheeseboard made by Tom Wendt.

This handcrafted wooden serving trivet was artistically made by Villager Tom Wendt. The board measures 17" (including handle) by 8-1/2" and features wood salvaged from Holden's old porches. This wood was removed to make way for the Porch Project to update Holden's beloved porches, and now it can be a beloved part of your very own kitchen!

Some of the marks from old nails are still visible, serving as a reminder of this trivet's past life as part of a Holden porch. It's one of the artist's favorite details and part of what makes this piece so unique. Add it to your home collection today!

Original Watanabe Print

A true treasure for your art collection! This print entitled "Madonna and Child" by Japanese printmaker Sadao Watanabe (1913-1996) is an original katazome ("hand-colored") stencil print on washi paper and is pencil signed and dated (1984) by the artist. The print also bears the imprint of Watanabe's inkan (personal seal) placed by the artist in the lower right margin.

Watanabe is famous for his biblical prints rendered in the Mingei ("folk craft") tradition of Japan.

Douglas Fir Earrings

These earrings were made with wood etched by beetles in a Douglas fir that grew in a valley near Chelan long before Mari acquired the wood. Mother beetles lay eggs in a straight line in the sugary phloem under the tree bark. When they hatch, the babies consume the sugar, leaving these meandering grooves behind.

Nested Ceramic Bowl Set

This set of five nesting bowls were handcrafted by the current Village Potter, Hazel Danielsen-Wong. The rims of the bowls were glazed using withwood ash from the 2015 Wolverine Creek Fire that burned down much of the foliage in the Holden area and nearly reached the Village. These five bowls hold a special piece of Holden history, truly unlike any other pottery that the Village has to offer.

Consultation and Congregational Set!

Bring Bless This Night to your congregation and receive support from the creators themselves as you do so! Members of the long-term Holden community collaborated to create a brand new evening prayer service: Bless this Night: Vespers '23.

The service seeks to honor night and darkness as times of God's blessing and renewal in our lives. It also has themes of creation, embodiment, and justice. Bless This Night is now part of the weekly Sacred Space worship rhythms in the Village.

This set includes a congregational set (25 participant guides, two leader guides, one flute part, and two piano accompaniment booklets) and a consultation with the creators.
