"This set of joyful Judaica is inspired by the concept of hiddur mitzvah, which translates to "beautifying the commandment." When I learned it was a mitzvah to create beautiful Judaica, I set out to paint two symbols that have always been special to me: the Tree of Life and the hamsa. Both have a multitude of meanings, but I was drawn to the Tree of Life as a visual representation of the power of good deeds: one takes root and sprouts other good deeds. The hamsa, a symbol shared in Jewish and Muslim cultures, is a representation of Gd's hand and protects against the evil eye.
