Located on 240 scenic acres, Old Sturbridge Village is the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast. The Village is designed to approximate the look and feel of a historic rural New England town of the early 19th century. and includes more than 40 historic buildings, such as houses, working farms, meetinghouses, a district school, country store, water-powered mills, professional and trade shops. All of this is situated along the Quinebaug River on the homeland of the Nipmuc peoples with visitors exploring the museum on dirt roads and pathways. Wayfinding and interpretive signage is positioned strategically throughout the museum.

Albacore Park features the tourable USS Albacore submarine, a maritime museum, gift shop, and memorial garden. Enjoy a self-guided tour through the preserved submarine known as the USS Albacore (AGSS-569), a pioneering vessel in modern submarine design that was recognized during much of the 20th century as the world's fastest and technologically influential submarine.
The USS Albacore was built locally at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and launched in 1953 by the U.S. Navy as a research submarine. Decommissioned in 1972, the USS Albacore was later brought to what is now known as Albacore Park, where it was placed in a dry basin and opened to the public in 1986. Visitors can go inside this historical submarine, look through the periscope, explore the control room, engineering spaces, bunk rooms, and more. Recordings by former crew members share fascinating stories from their time aboard the submarine.
