Your gift of $10,000 can provide a full scholarship for the first month of a resident's stay with us - alleviating some of the financial stress a family feels when considering whether or not to send their son.
As every household knows; the cost of food keeps going up and can be challenging. This is no less true when there are between ten and fifteen young men showing up to three meals a day (and looking for snacks in between)!
Your gift of $1,000 not only provides our residents with quality; nutritional food; it also affords them the opportunity to take their meals alongside some truly wonderful men and women.
As Fr. Tom likes to say; the kitchen is the beating heart of the island - the place where all our ministries intersect - where a resident sits down to eat with a bishop; a nun; a teacher and an art student. There; at the dining table; our residents are provided with a very unique opportunity to encounter the rich tapestry of life experience that only a retreat center could provide.
Regular counseling and psychotherapy are often essential aspect of the recovery work our young men are engaged in. Regular contact with a trained professional helps each of them grow in self-awareness and wisdom as they build on the foundation of their sobriety.
If you would like to help our residents make progress on the underlying issue that contributed to their addiction; this is a fantastic opportunity to spark real change in the lives of our young men.
Most of the young men in our residence do not have their own means of transportation. This general policy helps the young men settle into a new life and gradually gain back their independence as they grow in recovery.
In order to get our residents to the various meetings, classes, and appointments they have scheduled, our staff utilizes two big vans, which are in near constant use. Your special gift of $500 can help cover the cost of fuel for three months.
Within the Enders Island Recovery Residence; we place a high value not only on continued education and academic success; but also on helping our residents progress into the job market. Your donation will help them get the suit that will instill confidence and make all the difference when they interview for jobs.
Your $100 donation will pay for one hour of tutoring for a young man in our Recovery Residence Community.
