Painted by artist Melba Houser, a "hobby artist" who lived and worked in Virginia from around 1990 through 2022 when she succumbed to a long battle with Alzheimer's. Her son, Michael, was founder and lead guitarist of the popular band Widespread Panic.

Melba ran her own graphic design business in Waynesboro and developed an interest in plein air painting. She was a founding member and president of the Shenandoah Valley Art Center, and also was a member of Beverly Street Studio in Staunton.

Melba's catalog of completed paintings numbers over 200, with most held by her daughter, grandchildren, and close family friends.
