Searching for Goya pays homage to the longstanding influence of visual artist Francisco de Goya. With a company of dancers, singers, and musicians whose mastery of flamenco stretches the boundaries of the art form, the piece journeys through Goya's investigations of the human essence. Inspired by "Goya's Graphic Imagination," a collection by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Searching for Goya consists of a series of vignettes interpreting the artist's visual responses to the political turmoil of 19th century Spain.

Joan Chiverton grew up drawing New York City, its people, and music. As an award-winning art director, Chiverton worked with ad agencies in NYC and upstate New York. Since 2003, she's been illustrating for publications such as the New York Times and Wall Street Journal and working with City Winery, Joe's Pub, Jazz at LC, Lincoln Center, and Greenwich House. In 2021, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. purchased a copy of her etching of noted bassist Ron Carter.

The winner will receive this 10in x 10in sketch framed, matted, and signed by the artist.

Enjoy a one-on-one virtual writing workshop with award-winning artist Daniel Alexander Jones!

Daniel Alexander Jones is the author of the collection of plays and performance texts, Love Like Light (53rd State Press). The workshop will include an introductory presentation and conversation, followed by a series of guided exercises intended to invite the writer to explore perspective, form, and utterance using techniques drawn from Theatrical Jazz. Jones will touch base via email with the writer to discuss their personal goals and/or questions, then the Zoom session will be scheduled.

Daniel Alexander Jones has a long association with and love for Joe's Pub, first performing there in 1999, and going on to stage several shows featuring his performance "altar"-ego, Jomama Jones, most recently BLACK LIGHT from the 2018-2019 season.

The fact is this shirt is remarkably wearable and flatteringly adaptable to all genders and most body types!

Larry cut big round holes in this repurposed cotton Funky Donnie Fritts T-shirt and lined the cut-outs with repurposed ribbed crew necks salvaged from the remains of his Flashdance-inspired neckline treatments over the years. Using multi-colored embroidery floss, Larry then lovingly hand-stitched the crew necks into place using his patented decorative and functional double reverse integrated blanket stitch. These couture cut-outs are spaced in a vertical parade that goes up the front and over the head on this one-of-a kind T-shirt. For the beautifully bodacious among us, the cut-outs are perfectly spaced and proportioned to expose the wearer's bellybutton, cleavage/chest, and lovely head/face, in that order! One who is perfectly petite will find the upper cut-outs still sexily placed in the center of their chest, while the lower cut-outs will go somewhere around their waistband or possibly below that. Have fun layering or just letting it all hang out!
