Local artist and proud ALG parent, Carlos Carmonamedina, created a painting of the school's sideyard with the iconic church in the background! This is a print of the original painting made with watercolor and gouache.

Take a stroll along the Potomac riverfront in the historic district, peruse the art galleries of the Torpedo Factory Art Center, or meander through the oldest farmers market in the country held every Saturday in Market Square. Meanwhile your children will enjoy a fun filled morning at Josie and Tiffany's house (only 10 minutes from Old Town). They can pet the chickens, frolic in the back yard and enjoy other merriment based on their interests.

Dalia hosts a water fun play date with water activities for 6-8 kids at their home. Pizza is served and fun to be had. You can drop off your child and take this time to enjoy a kid-free daytime date with your sweetie. Or, you are welcome to stay and partake in the fun if you prefer. Don't hesitate to bid on this day in the sun!

Farah and Brian (Zinnia's parents), and Carlos will take the kids on an adventure to explore Rock Creek Park where we can see plants, mushrooms, birds, and more!

Light snacks and drinks will be provided but please send a water bottle.

Drop your child/ren off at the Carter Barron playground between 9:45 - 10am and pick them up at 12pm.

In case of light rain please send rain gear.

If there's heavy rain or lightning we'll hold the hike a week later (June 8th) at the same time.

Empowerment Self-Defense Class with Defend Yourself

2-hour workshop for 10 adult women with Defend Yourself. Defend Yourself will provide practical self-defense skills so you can protect yourself in situations ranging from annoying or uncomfortable - to actually dangerous. We'll provide skills that will help you prevent, interrupt, and heal from harassment and worse. Defend Yourself's approach is positive, empowering, and upbeat.
