About Zach

Z's Threes is a fundraiser dedicated in memory of Zach Markowitz '14, an incredible individual who touched many lives. Zach was a bright, hardworking man whose drive led to success academically and professionally. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Endicott College and a Master's Degree from Boston University. He was an avid basketball player and fan who achieved a lifelong dream by becoming part of the NBA when he joined the Atlanta Hawks as the Assistant Athletic Performance Coach. More recently, he worked for the Boston Celtics as the Rehab and Performance Coordinator. Through all of his success, the people closest to Zach are most proud of the person he became and the way he lived his life with integrity and dignity. He was a true inspiration and role model to so many.

Event Details

How many baskets can you make from the three-point line in 60 seconds? In honor of Zach Markowitz '14, Endicott College is partnering with Zach's friends to help with the outstanding fundraising they have already accomplished to endow a scholarship in Zach's name. Upon meeting the $25,000 goal, these funds will provide crucial support for Endicott students pursuing studies in Sport Science. Join us as a spectator or a contestant for a fun evening of three-point shooting in the MacDonald Gymnasium and refreshments at Gully's*, all organized with Zach's love of basketball at the forefront.

*Bar snacks will be served. Guests 21+ will receive one drink ticket. A cash bar will also be available.

Contest Rules

Participants will have 60 seconds to make as many three-point shots as possible. You can only use one ball, and it has to be self-rebounded.

Virtual Competition*

Can't join our in-person competition but still want to support and participate? Find a hoop local to you and compete in Z's Threes! Record yourself taking as many 3's as you can in 60 seconds. Remember you can only use one ball and you have to self rebound. This must be done on your first attempt (honor rule). After filming, submit your video to [email protected].

*To qualify for entry, please submit your video between Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 12 a.m. ET, and Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET. 
Each participant must raise or contribute a minimum of $10 towards the scholarship to qualify.

Raffle Items & Merchandise

The raffle is now closed. Proceeds from raffle ticket and t-shirt sales will be directed to the Zach Markowitz '14 Memorial Scholarship at Endicott College.

Raffle prizes included a signed Boston Celtics basketball or two (2) tickets to a 2024-2025 Boston Celtics home game.
Raffle entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Raffle closes Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 7:45 p.m.
