This Rising Stars team's DI season was when schools were virtual due to the covid pandemic.

These girls rallied together and came up with their story for the Critter's Big Adventure challenge over zoom calls. They figured out how to divide their story so they could each make their own section of their oversized book in order to tell a story piece by piece. They made sock puppets that interacted with their main character in their story, and had that character read and act out the story. They had a catchy tune about making different friends through their critter's adventure from Washington to the Amazon Rainforest.

Meet the High Flying Falcons, a team of 3rd and 4th graders who competed in DI for the first time.

During their performance, one of their team members had a severe bloody nose. Despite this unexpected emergency, the team showed great resilience and continued to soar high! Their hard work and determination paid off as they were awarded second place in the competition!!!

Delayed creativity, this challenge was performed at regionals right before they closed everything down for Covid. The team was so proud of this challenge.

We parents had a wonderful experience along with the kids during the last few months on DI. If you think the kids look happy, you should have seen our faces during the announcement when they said "GOING TO STATE" :)

In this picture, my friends and I were first admitted to DI when we were ten years old. We were once participants in DI, and we are currently working with DI as volunteers. And our teacher, who welcomed us into this amazing destination imagination family, is the person in the centre. ????
P.S. There is one person who couldn't attend DI, and that person is our wonderful friend is also a member of this group.??

We had so many great memories like making friends, being at the edge of loosing, great win and taking globals trophy in our last season. But this is the best moment that lasts in our hearts. After we are done with competition at global finals, the staff began to dump our roller coaster and props in to recycle bins as part of cleaning. When they are throwing that in to recycle , I was so moved to see that all kids on my team were so sad and saluted roller coaster and props while they are dumping and gave them a honorable farewell.I'm so proud of these kids and how these little things really make a difference in their life.

After their state competition this year, the team met at an indoor playground to celebrate a successful year. That evening Minnesota DI hosted a virtual awards ceremony where our team learned they WON the Elementary Level Blast from the Past! There was screaming, tears of joy, and lots and lots of excitement! This will always be one of my favorite moments as a team manager.

The Duct Tape Ball was always a favorite event when advancing to Global Finals each year in Knoxville, TN.

In 2018 the Fairview Town Crier, our hometown newspaper, featured this photo which included students from our community in Western North Carolina who attended Fairview Elementary, Cane Creek Middle and Reynolds High Schools, all of which participated for several years together and had award winning experiences. In addition, several of these global competitors celebrated Renaissance Awards, a Spirit of DI award and a Torch-Bearer Service Award during their six to nine years of Global Finals competition. Many of them remain close friends and credit their many other successes to the creative problem solving and teamwork skills they gained in Destination Imagination.

We started as rising stars team (when we were 4 years old) in UAE and participated at DI Qatar International Invitational in 2015 from there onwards it was non stop participation the first picture shows us in Qatar at the welcome parade.

In this photo, they had a cardboard cutout of their teammate who had a state competition for choir, and they were able to celebrate placing 4th, winning The DaVinci Award, 4 of them received a Magellan, and each of them received their Senior tassels. THis was the culmination of their amazing work, dedication, and commitment to not only Destination Imagination, but each other.

This DI team of high school freshmen - the DI PALS - became power rangers with costumes made of duct tape for the Duct Tape Ball at the 2014 Global Finals tournament. The only problem was they couldn't bend their legs to tie shoes or ride over in the car! But once they arrived, they had a blast.

The Fabulous Four planned and executed a service project supporting the Leander ISD Clothes Closet in 2019-2020. They collected donations of 2747 articles of new and gently used clothing for the Leander ISD clothes closet and placed first at the Heart of Texas Regional Tournament. In this photo, they are ready to give a fabulous performance at the regional tournament.

During the pandemic when everything was digital and awards ceremonies were online, this team got the surprise of a life time that they'd won first in their region. The team found a way to make receiving those awards special even during a tough year!

When the team has clear idea in their mind and work tirelessly to put their imagination into reality inspite of getting failure many times before!

This was one of our toughest DI regionals experience in our 6 years of DI journey.

We were disqualified at regionals competition during our prep interview as we had used helium balloon to make a blimp that would transport objects. There was no restriction in the rules of the road but there was a site restriction that we did not catch in time in our emails. We did not give up and upon request we were pushed down to being the last team to present that gave us 4 hours to re-do our transportation device. We couldn't get the transportation device to fly however we did present our challenge solution and placed 6th at Regionals. That's what we call grit and perseverance. We are so proud of our team.

The smiles and the sense of achievement on each face is priceless. The trailer was packed and ready to go to Fresno. The excitement on their faces made each of the parents smile and be happy.

This is the"28 Eyes" team from Katy Texas. They attended GF several years and this was their last time (2019) in person due to Covid. We always dreamed seeing them graduating at GF but that was not possible. Some of them were together for 11 years and all the team for 6 years.

Won First Prize for DI Regional Contest 2022

After enthusiastically screaming my head off at both years globals opening ceremonies, I got Will Roach's attention and friendship. He is my DI idol and every year I go I always make sure to meet up with him.

It was taken after our competition with the local team. We, as whole bunch sophomores in high school, were really excited to join the global finals, and also excited first time come to the US. We felt the welcome by local teams. And enjoyed our time together

All of the pictured team members were first year participants. Their participation in DI brought about leadership qualities, collaborative efforts, and critical thinking skills. It was awesome to see this group of students develop and mature as continued learners and problems solvers!

This was a second grade rising stars team at their regional tournament in 2020. Days later, the world shut down for COVID. It's crazy to think how much has changed since then! Three of these team members are still going strong in DI!

We grew up participating in OM and DI as team members, and both began volunteering with our parents at workshops and tournaments as soon as we graduated. DI was always a family affair and remained a key way we stayed connected as adults.

Even though we were ICMs for different challenges in 2017, we helped each other solve some unusual problems at Globals that year. Neither of us could have found all the pieces to the puzzle without the other's knowledge of the situation.

Competing at Global Finals as a team member was an unforgettable experience from my younger years, but working alongside my brother as an ICM was a truly magical DI moment.

The DI team decided to invent an automatic door handle cleaner because there was an outbreak of Pink Eye in the school. The team swabbed the door handles throughout the school. The Petri dishes revealed gross findings. The children learned the importance of washing their hands.

Picture of Dragon at the NH State Tournament 2019 which earned the team a Renaissance Award and a first place finish and a trip to Global Finals. The dragon had over one thousand scales made from the cardboard from serial boxes and had movable wings.
The team competed at the High School level despite only having one team member in high school. The team was mostly 5th and 6th graders with one 3rd grader. They placed 1st in instant challenge at Global Finals that year and had a teammate that lived in India travel to the US for Globals.

My team and I have been doing DI since 2nd grade - 9 years!
