I used a collection of fabrics and a panel from Mx Domestic, a company run by Matthew Boudreaux, a "sewist, teacher, speaker, designer, advocate, firm anti-racist, LGBTQIA+, and Helena's dad.

Artist Statement:
"No one made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." This is my little attempt to help the LGBTQ community, especially young people.

This roomy quilted duffel bag includes two exterior pockets, gold hardware, strong handles, and a detachable shoulder strap with comfort pad.

The moment I was gifted this rare Alexander Henry pinup fabric, I knew I had to share it! While male pinups are usually associated with the gay male gaze, anyone who loves beautiful men is free to enjoy this bag. I was also excited to donate a practical item that can be used (and shown off!) while traveling.
This generous tote bag features foundation paper pieced lettering, rainbows on the exterior and in the pocket linings, a lining fabric named "The Gayborhood" and a cork base. The top closes with a magnetic snap.

GSAFE quilt donor in the past. Saw this canvas fabric and knew it was made for GSAFE project.
I knitted the squares and strap. Pattern of purse is the Oa by Kate Davies. My daughter added the lining (a wool blend) and the zipper. The liner is scraps from Shawn who makes amazing hammocks (hammockhut.com)! The strap is long enough (46") so purse can be hung across the body.

This purse is named by the designer of the pattern for the Islay Penninsula in Scotland.
This bag was constructed using the Emerson Crossbody Quilted Bag pattern from the Blanket Statement, and features two zippered compartments + an interior pocket big enough to store everyday essentials and a bit more. Finished with a combination of machine and hand sewing. Lined with Moda lawn, and the strap is made with organic cotton webbing.
