With your support we can continue to break barriers and bring the joy of music to children throughout Fairfield County.
Every gift, big and small, makes a difference!
Every season, all Stamford Public School 3rd graders receive a free recorder in order to introduce them to music in their schools. The students learn how to play the recorder throughout the school year and also perform alongside the Orchestra.
Help us provide the gift of music to all 1,300 3rd grade students!
We partner a Project Music student with an Orchestra musician to provide high quality, individualized instruction for the student. Over the course of the school year, the student advances their skill on the instrument and utilizes that skill to audition for music programs across the country. Your gift will allow us to continue to provide bi-weekly musical instruction to many Project Music students.
In our pilot program with Stamford Health, Orchestra Lumos Musicians will be joining music therapist Barbara Yahr to provide therapeutic activities with Hospital patients. Specific health outcomes will be targeted as we work with the hospital's rehabilitation and behavioral health units. Join us in bringing joy and vitality back to patients with great need!
Orchestra Lumos is partnering with Music Together to provide concerts at libraries across Fairfield county. From developing literacy to reinforcing Social and Emotional Learning, this program is a wonderful musical introduction for Pre-K students and their families. Help us sing, dance, play instruments, and learn with lots of fun engagement!
Each year Orchestra Lumos performs for every single 4th grader in Stamford Public Schools. This concert geared at exposure to orchestral instruments gives students the tools to interact and create personal relevance with orchestral music at the Palace theater. This wonderful experience is easily replicable and with more support, we would love to bring it to more students throughout Fairfield county in coming years.
