William Morris' work explores the relationship between human beings and nature through the lens of death and memory: death as a return to nature and memory as the resilience of and communion with nature. His works honor the memory of ancient civilizations and remind us that we are part of a long continuum of making our mark on the earth.
In his youth, Morris would encounter (yet not disturb) traces of past human and animal existence while hiking, camping, or
climbing near the rugged central California coast-arrowheads, pottery shards, bones, and tusks. The impact of coming upon burial sites and archeological remains, especially when he was alone, was profound. These moments ignited a reverence for past human life-an awe and respect for those deeply connected to their land. This awe was rooted not in morbidity, but rather wonderment at the miracle of life and the mystery of death.
Morris' work in studio glassblowing dates back to the late 1970s when he arrived at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA to work initially as a driver and eventually as the chief gaffer for Dale Chihuly. He remained with the Pilchuck studio for approximately 10 years and then traveled to Venice to learn additional techniques from the Venetian Glass Masters of Murano, Italy. Morris also traveled to see monolithic and megalithic structures erected by ancient cultures, which would inspire his stone vessels and standing stone sculptures.

Dan Friday is a member of the Lummi Nation and a Seattle based glass artist. He has spent the last twenty five years creating his own work, and also working with artists such as Dale Chihuly, Paul Marioni, and Preston Singletary.

The themes and images of Friday's work are often drawn from his Coast Salish heritage and are solidified in the world of glass art. Dan has taught at the University of Washington, Pilchuck Glass School, and the Haystack Craft Center. As an artist active since the late 1960s, I have worked on major infrastructure and planning projects, site-specific sculptures, museum installations, and community interventions. I received my MFA in 1969, and later, the Distinguished Alumni Award in Architecture and Design, at the University of Michigan. I am the recipient of numerous awards, among them, NEA fellowships and the Americans for the Arts Public Art Award in 2009. In 2013 the Frye Art Museum mounted a major retrospective of primarily my social actions work. In May 2015 and 2016, I conducted the Rising Waters confab at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation on Captiva Island, Florida. This confab brought together a collaborative team of scientists, artists, land use specialists, and activists to create approaches to resilience and the graceful migration of people and biota. I have exhibited at The New Museum, MoMA PS1, Seattle Art Museum, Frye Art Museum, The Hirshhorn Museum, Capp Street Project, International Glass Museum.

Charlotte was profoundly influenced by her love of color and dance, developing a propensity for the human form and the visual arts. Her abstract pieces best reflect the joie de vie that defines her work. Charlotte obtained her BFA Degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she was named the most promising student of painting. Returning to her Latina roots she traveled in South and Central America while painting murals along the way. For her this became very liberating, integrating her love of both color and movement.

Each piece comes into existence and develops a personality as it evolves, much like all of us. His artwork is rooted in the traditions of Japanese Mingei philosophies while reflecting on his long-standing immersion in contemporary art and design.

His art was usually figurative, capturing moments of daily life using light and shadow to create a form in broad strokes, and utilizing contrasting, vibrant colors to move the viewer through the painting and accentuate the main elements. His scenes usually included people or animals, either in motion or in slice-of-life portrayals. Facial details are minimal. As a life drawing instructor, Cumming would note that you could recognize a friend down the road just by their gait and posture, without ever seeing their face. Body language is a key element in his work.

I was born in a small rural town in Wisconsin. At 20 years old, I set out in my car and drove to Alaska. I arrived in Anchorage, knowing no one, and enrolled at Alaska Pacific University. I moved to La Conner fall 2021. My early retirement is due to an acute medical condition I experienced in 2017, which affected my brain. Art helps me express myself and fills my time with joy. My "no rules apply" approach leads to experimentation with no limits or expectations. I've had two watercolors on exhibit at the Artless Bastard Gallery in DePere, Wisconsin.

Jay Steensma (1941-1994), also known as J. Steensma, was an American artist, primarily a painter, sometimes described by reviewers as a later-day exponent of the Northwest School of artists. He was known for his extremely prolific output, and, at times, unusual media (such as latex house paint on brown paper shopping bags). Chalices, snakes, houses, clouds, birds, and fish were frequent subjects in his work. He was one of the more successful artists in the Pacific Northwest in the 1980s and '90s, but had long-standing health problems, and died in Seattle at age 52.

Reynvaan Family Vineyards is a small family winery that produces Rhone-style red and white wines dedicated to creating fine wines exclusively from the terroir of Walla Walla Valley.
