About the Blonde Ambition Team
Ami and Teri met over 20 years ago in the hospitality industry and have remained colleagues and friends ever since. Together they are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to hosting a gathering, party, or grabbing a happy hour cocktail at your local watering hole!
About Teri
Hi. I'm Teri. You've probably seen me around because I've lived here my entire life. Boring I know, right? However, it's a great place to raise a family and have a great quality of life. Speaking of which, my husband, Kevin, and I have seven children and eight grandchildren. Their ages range from two years old to almost nineteen years old!
I've been involved in the bar, restaurant and hospitality industry for almost 35 years now. For the last thirteen years, I have called Sports Time (on C.R. 17 in Elkhart) home. I started out working in the kitchen, waiting tables and bartending while I was completing culinary school in Chicago. I later became the Chef. After leaving for a brief stint selling for Sysco Foods, I came back home to Sports Time as a full-time bartender. After 13 years I'm still there! I'm only part-time now though because two years ago, I started my own catering business, "Teri's Bitchin' Kitchen". I love everything about the restaurant, bar and hospitality industry! Creating, Mixing, Cooking, Decorating, Party Planning, Entertaining. I am an INSTIGATOR OF FUN!! If things are a little too quiet, I will stir it up! Life is too short not to enjoy and have fun.
A little tidbit which you may not know is that Chef Juan Rodriguez of Essence is my son-in-law. While we worked together in the kitchen at Sports Time, I played match maker with my daughter.
Another interest of mine for the past 43 years is stalking Rick Springfield! I have met some of my best friends at his concerts. I travel all over the country (even outside the country) to see him. I'm considered a "fan friend". As of this writing, no restraining order has been filed.
I support JA and specifically Biz Town, because it is so important for our youth to have a head start understanding business and their potential role in it. I'm excited to raise money for such a great cause and I'm counting on YOU to help me do it!
About Ami
As the "local go to" for all things event planning and wine and spirits for the past 15 years you probably have had the opportunity to meet Ami Tack along the way! Ami is currently Midwest Territory Manager for El Bandido Tequila, a regionally owned Tequila Brand by Chris Chelios and Jim Bob Morris out of Bloomington, IL. With her extensive background in wholesale wine and spirits distribution, education and sales, she has been involved in many events locally and throughout the state. Prior to the adult beverage industry, Ami worked as an Event Coordinator and still donates her skills to several charity events and the occasional wedding. In addition, she has a partnership interest in a small brew pub just off the Notre Dame Campus, Danny Boy Draft Works, where you will definitely find her working every home football game!
Ami is the mom of a very active 12yr old son, Reid, and 3 giant breed canine fur babies. When she is not running between baseball and basketball obligations, you will find her on a travel adventure or catching live music at a concert venue.
Why JA?
Ami has been a huge supporter of Junior Achievement and has been involved in several fundraising and community events for the organization throughout the years. She served on the first JA Gala events team and has supported the event annually by donating time towards design and details for the event. She was the emcee for last year's Taste of Achievement and is excited to be contributing to fundraising as a "Celebrity Bartender" this year! In her own words, "I was blessed with the opportunity to experience the Biz Town Simulation with my son's school last spring, it was absolutely incredible to see it all in action. It is so important for our children to learn the importance of financial literacy early on in their education and I am so happy to be a part of JA to support that!"
