Malcolm Shaffner started painting with in oils, but did not enjoy the dry time. he has also tried working with the Chelsea Wood Carvers. He ended up meeting Floyd Rhadigain who teaches wood carving in Tecumseh. The two really clicked. Bass wood is easy to carve when you have a great teacher. Malcolm and Floyd carved together with and great ideas flowing. His favorite part is painting the piece, he sees it as bringing the statue to life.
