Spend a Day With a Seeing Eye Instructor in Morristown or NYC
Experience first-hand what it's like to train Seeing Eye dogs! You and one guest can choose from following the trainer in Morristown or in one of the most challenging environments..New York City!
In the morning, meet at the Morristown, NJ, campus with a training manager to tour the facility, meet the team of instructors, and watch dogs being loaded in vans for the trip. Ride along with the manager, when you'll have plenty of time to ask questions and learn about the training process.
Once in the city, you'll follow different instructors as they work with their dogs, have lunch, then continue to observe dogs being trained to work through crowds, heavy traffic, subways, escalators, etc.
Before heading back to campus, you'll have a chance to experience what it's like to work with a guide dog while under blindfold.
Finally, you'll receive a gift bag filled with Seeing Eye merchandise.
This experience is for two people, and the minimum age is 15.
Scheduling: This experience will be scheduled during the workweek (no weekends). We will try to accommodate your schedule as best we can, but please keep in mind that this experience needs to coincide with our training cycle. In the event of severe weather or heavy rain, the day will have to be postponed.
