Honorary Chairs - Ken and Fay Moraif

Ken and Fay Moraif are thrilled to be a part of the mission and contribution that the Dallas Northeast Texas Alzheimer's Association has made in supporting those impacted by Alzheimer's and other dementias, and they are excited to be part of their efforts to raise awareness, provide caregiver support, improve treatment, and ultimately find a cure.

By serving as Honorary Chairs, the Moraifs wish to honor all of those diligently serving in the capacity of caregivers, researchers, and health care practitioners involved in the support of those suffering, and the tens of thousands of dedicated volunteers across the country who are engaged in the fight to end Alzheimer's.

Fay worked as an RN in the intensive care unit prior to obtaining a master's degree in Health Science and completing her Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) residency. While working as a CRNA, Fay also founded and operated an anesthesia staffing firm. Her exposure to patients with organic brain disease ignited a lasting interest in improving the treatment possibilities for those suffering with the debilitating effects of these conditions. Now retired, Fay enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and participating in several organizations focused on her interests in literature, cuisine, French language, and philanthropy.

Ken is the Founder and CEO of Retirement Planners of America (RPOA), an investment advisory firm based in Plano with 14 locations throughout the Southwest. RPOA specializes in retirement planning for individuals over age 50 and currently manages over $3.58 billion for approximately 6,600 families in 48 states (as of 12/31/2023.) For more than 25 years, Ken has also hosted the popular weekly radio show and podcast, "Money Matters with Ken Moraif," providing listeners with financial planning tips designed to make their money last as long as they do.

In 2021, the Moraif's passion and commitment to community service helped inspire the employees at RPOA to start RPOA Cares. After learning more about the important work the Alzheimer's Association is doing to end Alzheimer's, the RPOA Cares team participated in the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer's and was honored to be named "Rookie Team of the Year," coming in third place in total fundraising. In 2022 and 2023, the RPOA Cares team has been a top team for the Dallas Walk to End Alzheimer's. Since 2021, RPOA Cares has raised over $350K for the Alzheimer's Association.

Gala Committee Chair - Melonie Carnegie

I am extremely humbled and honored to be serving as this year's Gala Committee Chair for the Alzheimer's Association's fifth annual "An Event to Remember" Gala. We are excited to host you and your guests for this fabulous evening - April 6, 2024, at the JW Marriott in downtown Dallas.

Like many of you, I have a strong passion and personal interest in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and all forms of dementia. My mother is currently battling Alzheimer's, and our family is determined to bring awareness to this disease and encourage others in the community to do the same. With your participation and support of the Alzheimer's Associations 2024 Gala, you will assist families like mine and others in our community, to navigate this terrible disease and fight for a cure for
our loved ones!

The Alzheimer's Association is the largest non-profit funder for Alzheimer's and dementia research worldwide. However, we cannot continue providing education, support, and life changing research without the resources from individuals and companies like yours. Help us make an impact!

Join us!

With Gratitude,
Melonie Carnegie

Marissa Phillips is a two-year Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and a champion of the mission of the Alzheimer's Association. The youngest daughter of Michael and Mary Phillips, Marissa has been an avid dancer and performer since the age of two. She and her sister, Micaela, were both part of the Texas A&M dance team and currently co-own an online boutique "JoeyLynn," named after their parents. Marissa was still a teenager when her father, Michael, was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, which also coincided with the early COVID pandemic lockdown. Though isolated, she and her siblings took the opportunity to return home from college and adult life to spend time with their father as he progressed through the disease. Michael passed in 2021, and his family is honoring him by sharing his story and opening up about their caregiving journey. Though Michael never had the privilege to see Marissa perform as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, she is honoring his memory through her platform and recent participation in the "My Boots, My Cause" program where she chose to support the Alzheimer's Association.
