With the help of PreK 2 parent volunteers, students in the Class of 2037 created their own Chihuly-inspired sculpture after learning about artist Dale Chihuly, who revolutionized the studio glass movement in the U.S. With their teachers, they painted on clear cups and bottles, which were then shrunk and formed by teachers with a heat gun to create these interesting shapes. The cups and bottles were mounted on a driftwood piece to create a wondrous 3D sculpture measuring 23 inches tall by 19 inches wide. This project was led by Kari Merritt P '28.

Students in the Class of 2035 learned that there are o ways to paint other than with a brush! They each were given a cup of paint and discovered that pouring it on a 4-foot by 2-foot canvas was immensely satisfying. After each student poured their paint, they tipped the canvas, allowing the paint to flow, drip, and blend together. The result is stunning! This project was led by Kari Merritt P '28.

What is better than a game of Jenga? A large lawn Jenga with painted blocks created by the students in the Class of 2032! Coach Jada Small started playing club and school volleyball in 6th grade, and she hasn't stopped since. She received All-Conference honors in high school for two years in a row, and her career included full-time club playing for Ocean Breeze Volleyball Club, where she competed in numerous qualifier tournaments throughout the country.

She went on to play at the collegiate level and was awarded MVP her sophomore year. During her four years at New England College, she started as an outside hitter for three seasons. During this time, she did a study abroad program in Milan, Italy, for a semester, where she played internationally for NABA University.

For the past three years, she has coached at the high school level and led teams to play competitively at regional levels. Her love for the game of volleyball and teaching its many life lessons is Coach Small's true passion.
