Bergen County CASA is thrilled to announce that on April 17, 2025, we will be honoring at our CASINO night (at Seasons in Washington Township) two invaluable sponsors and generous supporters, Kundert Volvo of Hasbrouck Heights and the Lorin Konner Sherman Memorial Fund.

The event is also to help Bergen CASA raise critical, unrestricted funds to support our Advocacy for all of Bergen County's foster children. Whether these children need a warm coat, visits with their siblings, or extra school support, Bergen CASA's Advocates ensure their needs are met. Our Advocates safeguard that their appointed foster children are getting the medical, educational, and psychological services needed to begin to heal from the trauma they have experienced. At the same time, we help find them safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.

Lorin Konner Sherman Memorial Fund

In 2006, Kenneth and Phyllis Konner established the Lorin Konner Sherman Memorial Fund in loving memory of their daughter, Lorin Konner Sherman. This heartfelt initiative has made a significant impact by raising over $253,000 for Bergen County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). The fund's noble mission is to support foster children in our community, ensuring their safety, well-being, and the pursuit of permanent homes. Through the tireless efforts of volunteers and the unwavering commitment of the Konner family, this fund continues to be a beacon of hope for vulnerable children, providing them with a voice, advocacy, and a chance for a brighter future. Lorin's legacy lives on through this remarkable endeavor, touching the lives of countless young hearts in need.
