2024 Come Out Against Cancer

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Many of us have a connection to cancer, whether it be ourselves or someone we love. Research confirms that the LGBTQ+ community carries a disproportionate burden of cancer, has distinctive risk factors, and faces additional barriers to accessing health care. We plan to change that and have fun doing it!

Our focus is Health Equity. The money raised at this event will stay here in North Texas and will intensify the North Texas Get Screened Campaign to support the Dallas and NTX LGBTQ+ communities by providing:

• Cancer Screening outreach in partnership with local clinics, health systems, and LGBTQ+ organizations to communicate cancer outreach messages, education, and offer cancer screening services and referrals.

• Development of programs that educate healthcare providers on cultural sensitivity and the needs of LGBTQ+ populations in collaboration with local hospitals and LGBTQ+ organizations.

• Awareness campaign via targeted media in the Dallas and NTX market.

The North Texas Get Screened Campaign includes a multi-pronged effort to increase cancer screening among the medically underserved in DFW. Current partners include Federally Qualified Health Centers, county health systems, and community and healthcare leaders.
