The Book of Moon follows the journey of one young analong as she discovers the truth about family, the price of identity, the power of choice and the requirement of love to save the world. It is an allegory of mental illness in childhood; its characters and events are inspired by the author's experience as a child and teenager growing up with a mental illness. It was written with the intent to help create awareness of the isolation, discrimination and stigma experienced by the mentally ill in their everyday lives.
