This beautiful painting was created by magic and enhanced by zookeeper Rayne Beck who added pieces of Magic's shed to the painting.
Magic isn't just the biggest snake at the AGCZ, but it may be the most recognized. Magic has retired from the limelight but still came out to paint a beautiful masterpiece this year.
When Magic isn't hanging out in the pool, it can be seen stretched out in the enclosure. Yellow anacondas are native to South America and their genus name Eunectes means "good swimmer" in Latin.

Quill Nye joined the zoo last summer as a member of our ambassador animal team and can be seen at our educational programs.
Prehensile-tailed porcupines are covered in short, thick spines that give them a speckled appearance. The spines normally lay flat but are raised when the animal feels threatened. Contrary to popular belief- porcupines cannot shoot their spines! A prehensile-tailed porcupine's spines normally lay flat but are raised to appear larger and more threatening when needed.
