"A selection of wines!
Cervantes Blacktail 2018: 27% Cab Franc, 23% Cab Sav, 23% Malbec, 23% Petite Sirah, and 4% Petite Verdot. Excellent blend with a 92+ Rating.
It has a deep rich purple red inky color, like you can see the variety of grapes that went into it. On the nose you get rich notes of plum, blue flora, leaf stamped earthiness, Cherry and cardamon spice and slight tinge of barrel oak. The nose opens nicely once aerated or left to breathe for 10 minutes.
On the palate, there's a rich heft from the cab franc, with a soft midpalate and rounded tannin. Beautiful dark chocolate with a hint of blueberry, and tree bark, subtle basil, and a medium floral finish.
Best enjoyed slightly chilled and left to breath for 20-30 minutes. Fantastic with rich, bold red meats.
Merlot:
Strong and well-balanced expression of Napa Valley Merlots. On the nose you get rich dark fruit, strong herbs and soft vanilla notes. They flavor extends to the palate, highlighting the merlot with complimentary flavors from dark semi-sweet chocolate, blueberries, hints of espresso, and vanilla cinnamon. 93 pts on Wine Enthusiast.
I suggest this to anyone looking for a complex and different wine for Cab drinkers. Compliments bold foods well such as steak, lamb, veal, pork. Does beautifully on its on as well, perfect for cold or rainy days.
Col Solare:
A venture alongside Antinori Wines, this 94+ wine is rich, exciting, and worth opening anytime of the week just to savor the flavor.
Notes of plum, fig, leathery tobacco, coffee invite you in, while the flavors of dried herbs, rocky soil, dark cherry, and coco keep the tannins balanced and refined with a soft enough finish that lingers for some time.
Best enjoyed slightly chilled and opened for at least 15-20 minutes.
