Your Contribution Provides: We Care Kits!

Families may experience a lot of stress during a child's psychiatric admission. Your gift will help ease some of that stress by providing We Care Kits. Each Kit costs about $3.50 and includes simple items that can make a world of difference to a family whose child is in crisis. We Care Kits include: paper and pen for note taking, tissues, water, a granola bar and self care tips. Meal cards may also be included for families in need. This effort grew from our Patient and Family Advisory Board, which includes parents of children who have been treated for mental illness. The Division estimates a need of 5,000 We Care Kits in a calendar year.

Your Contribution provides: Specialized Equipment. Many of the KV PEACe patients and families need specialized items to assist in their care outside of the hospital. Your gift will help our care team provide patients and families with these specialized items. Examples include car seats and harnesses, shatterproof eye glasses and fitted helmets.

Your Contribution Provides A Transition Care Plan. When it comes to planning the next steps in a child's care, we carefully consider both immediate and long-term needs. This means we actively involve parents, school administrators and other wrap-around service providers. Your gift will support the KV PEACe team in this time-intensive work. With your help, we will create comprehensive care plans that give each child a chance to return home and continue the healing process.

Your Contribution Provides Developmentally Appropriate Supplies. Your gift will help provide a soothing environment for kids and families by ensuring that there are supplies for kids and teens that are appropriate for their ages and developmental abilities. An example of these supplies is advanced learning systems like Leap Pads and iPads.

Your Contribution funds the Bridge Clinics. Your gift will contribute to a fund used to create more space for our Bridge Clinic at our Liberty and College Hill campuses. The Bridge Clinic is a service offered to patients who do not meet criteria for a psychiatric inpatient admission but need psychiatric services while they are waiting for outpatient services to begin.
