About the Artist

Hi! We're Bernie and Ellen Caruso. We live on our North Carolina farm with our teenager Christi, and our grown son and neighbors Jimmy, and his wife Jenny. Former city folks, when we moved here we went hog-wild (pun intended) with farm animals. Over the years these included horses, cows, a donkey, pigs, sheep, ducks, quail, geese, chickens, rabbits, guinea fowl, dogs, cats, and of course, goats! Quite a change for Bernie and Ellen, whose biggest pets growing up were cats, white mice, and goldfish! We're loving the country, and feeling really blessed to live here.

Bernie, a degreed chemist, formulates our products, and everyone helps make and sell them. Jimmy, the personable young man with the striking blue eyes, manages our stand at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market and is the creative hand behind our attractive soap bars.

Peppermint Essential Oil
Stimulating peppermint essential oil actually provides a bit of a tingle in the shower. Great for waking up!

Olive Oil
A true Castile soap, this contains only one oil: olive oil. Creamy rather than lathering, it is the hardest, most gentle and hypoallergenic we have.

Tea Tree

Tea tree oil is easily recognized by it's medicinal scent, and is reputed to have antiseptic properties.

CAUTION: Tea tree essential oil may cause dermal sensitization in some people.

Rosemary & Mint Essential Oil
Mosquitoes hate the strong, fresh invigorating rosemary mint scent. People love it, including in the kitchen.

Patchouli Essential Oil
A member of the mint family, patchouli has a strong, distinctive, warm-earth aroma with fresh fruit-like tones. Usually loved or hated, there's rarely an in-between.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil
The distinctive camphorous scent of fresh-cut eucalyptus leaves. Stimulating, and a popular winter-time seller.

Bergamot & Tarragon
A truly spectacular spa-like fragrance with top notes of tarragon leaves, grapefruit, and lime; followed by middle notes of bergamot and jasmine; well rounded with base notes of oakmoss and bamboo
