Baseballs by Mike Floyd
$75Hand-painted by Connecticut artist and lifelong baseball fan Mike Floyd, these First Series commemorative baseballs are a dream come true for fans of a game from a long-ago era. These baseballs are authentic limited edition reproductions of a previously hand-painted piece, done in a sepia tone to take you back to the era when these players roamed the fields and made themselves legends.
Floyd's special talent lies in the use of a small, fine brush, india ink and a pen. He uses those tools to create miniature baseball masterpieces. The baseball becomes Floyd's canvass, as he turns the once-white sphere into a painstakingly hand-painted illustration of Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle or any other subject a one might desire. Combined with the player's career stats, a nickname or anything else a client wants, the balls are a 360-degree one-of-a-kind baseball card.
Most of his one-of-a-kind masterpieces fetch over $500 each. But he has also made limited edition reproductions like these balls to give all fans a chance to own a piece of their favorite player.
These balls are individually numbered and feature Yogi Berra (113 of 152), Jackie Robinson (62 of 100) and Brooks Robinson (97 of 152). Each ball comes in a clear acrylic display case and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
