The Snite Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame and Penn-Harris-Madison are teaming up once again to offer an extraordinary week-long summer learning opportunity!

The 2016 Summer Visual Arts Academy is designed to provide a uniquely enriching and creative experience for P-H-M elementary students. The academy integrates art history, art production and writing, and challenges children to "think outside the box."

The program is based at Penn High School and includes a field trip to the University of Notre Dame's Snite Museum of Art. Students will create works of art inspired by pieces in the Snite Museum's collection as well as learn about museum objects through tours, reading, and writing.

P-H-M teachers, the Snite's curator of education, and 3 visiting professional artists will lead this learning experience. They will tailor each week's activities to be age-appropriate for the grade level in attendance.

All current K-5 Penn-Harris-Madison students are eligible to attend and the academy is FREE!
