A look back . . .
HWISPA-NY 2023 Annual Gala:
Masquerade in the 21st Century
The fundraising total on last year's gala homepage does not include ticket sales as they were not sold and recorded via GiveSmart.
The Met Gala met Meta in our post-global pandemic, work-from-home world, where we paired athleisure with bling or cocktail attire with sneakers, celebrated our community, and raised $44,000 to outfit the NY campus gymnasium for hosting school performances, along with other exciting educational activities and opportunities!

2023 NY Campus Wish Lists
Below is how our supporters chose to specifically direct some of their donations to last year's wish lists for Masquerade in the 21st Century!
Makerspace
The $1,250 donated to this initiative ensured it remained a hub of inspiration and enabled our teachers to continue expanding both the Makerspace and woodworking curriculums in the 2023-2024 academic year. Hands-on STEAM-focused activities directly impact the lives of aspiring inventors, young entrepreneurs, and future engineers. Your ongoing generosity enables a stimulating environment where students can nurture their problem-solving skills, enhance their technological literacy, and embrace the spirit of creativity.
HudsonWay Flyers
The coaches, made up of parent-volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to share their love of running with our students, were able to use the $550 that was donated to the HudsonWay Flyers toward the purchase of new team uniforms.
HudsonWay Chess Club
The chess club exceeded it's $300-goal thanks to the generosity of our NY families. As a result of the $625 donated via the gala, they were able to purchase 4 game clocks, 4 large competition chess sets, 20 chess notation pads, and a money box--as well as fund food sale operations at the chess tournaments hosted by HWIS. Concession revenue often helps cover end-of-year party costs or prizes for the chess team members.
Lettuce Grow Farmstand
Following a corporate donation from Lettuce Grow of a 24-Plant Farmstand (FMV: $549), plus 24 seedlings to start (FMV: $95), our community contributed $475, which was just enough for HWISPA-NY to add 4 Glow Rings (FMV: $474). This is currently in the process of being gifted to Ms. Dalma's classroom.

And, of course, HWISPA-NY!
Academic support and enrichment programs operated by HWISPA-NY are only possible because of parent volunteers and supporters like you! Initiating and sustaining efforts for our class parties, teacher gifts, student clubs and extracurricular activities, parent and family socials, fundraising events, Field Day, and much more are powered by HWISPA-NY dues, donations and volunteers. Existing and future implementation of even more of the incredible ideas regularly presented by our parent community are always in the works, so many thanks for the continued support and ongoing generosity offered through your money, time, and talents!
