Celebrating Mothers Brunch 2025 Honorees
Dr. Dan R. Taylor, D.O. FAAP, FACOP
Dr. Daniel R. Taylor is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine and general pediatrician at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children for the past twenty-two years. He is also course director of Community Pediatrics and Child Advocacy at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and is the Medical Director of the medical legal partnership at St. Chris; and the co-director of the Reach Out and Read program at St. Chris. Dr. Taylor is the founder of the Children's Advocacy Project of Philadelphia (Cap4Kids) which is an on-line resource directory for providers, child advocates and families to find resources in their community. Dr. Taylor has authored articles for the Health and Science section of the Philadelphia Inquirer and has garnered awards for his work including the President's Award for Drexel University; the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatrician of the Year; and the Tenet Hero Award. Dr. Taylor's passion is children and their families, especially those that are underserved, living on the fringes, and those most vulnerable.
Tatyana Ali
With a career spanning 40 years, Brooklyn-born Tatyana Ali is a Broadway-trained actress, singer, writer, producer, activist, and Harvard University graduate. She is a 5-time NAACP Image Award winner, Harvard Aspiring Minority Business Leader, Black Girls Rock! Honoree, National Hispanic Media Coalition Advocacy Award Winner, member of Zeta Phi Beta Incorporated Sorority and a PTA Mom. Tatyana has spent most of her life as an advocate engaging in humanitarian and policy efforts. A recipient of the Humanitarian and Arts award from the Western Poverty Law Center in 2022, she works to advance Black maternal health and reproductive justice and published an op-ed in Essence magazine entitled "Birthright." She is an active member of the March of Dimes Celebrity Advocate Council. Her newest venture, Baby Yams, applies her gift for storytelling in a different medium: textiles and home goods. Proceeds from her products fund grants for Black and Indigenous midwives and doulas. Tatyana resides in California with her husband and two sons.
