With less than six months to go until the oldest surviving SA diploma holder celebrates his 100th birthday, David Nimick '40, has generously offered to donate his needlepoint stools to the Academy for this grand occasion.
He suggests that you don't ask him "What books has he read in the past 45 years?" for you'll get "Doing something constructive with my hands and eyes has been a more relaxing and satisfying use of my time".
Knowing he can't take his Treasures with him, he says he wants the Auction winners to enjoy them as much as he has.
David worked with Santom's Upholstery and Repair in Ross Township to make the wooden 12"x12"x12" structures on which 2" foam and David's stitched canvases are affixed.
Each stool will make a very colorful, useful-for-sitting, decorative, one-of-a-kind treasure in one's home for years to come.
This one-of-kind design is detailed with characters from Winnie the Pooh.
