Abron Frye's Story:

"On March 23, 2021, at six years old less than a month before my seventh birthday. This day changed my life from being a kid who loves to play football, running track, attending school, playing with my cousins, attending birthday parties, church & activities, Saints & Pelican games, and so many things' children my age do from day to day. Over the past few months, I had to undergo many procedures, chemotherapy treatments, blood transfusion, and more. It hasn't been easy but with the help of my parents, family, friends, pastor, church members, and all health care professionals, faculty, and staff of Children's Hospital New Orleans and my brief treatment at Texas Children Hospital, The Blood Center, and all volunteers and supporting agencies who are all heaven sent from God. God is in control of all things The faculty and staff of St. Rita Catholic School, my pediatrician Dr. Tammy Senentez of Napoleon Pediatric, and, Hematology and Oncology Dr. Gardner and her entire team, all played a very important role leading up to my diagnosis, and the beginning of my treatment and journey to recovery. Dr. Gardner and all the doctors, residents, nurses, child life specialists, social workers, staff, faculty, dietary, housekeeping, the greeters and anyone involved with Children's Hospital has made this process extremely easy even though it's very difficult and challenging at times. Going through this journey... I have so much to share… Thank you very much for the support."
